  2. Our Beloved Ripper has escaped and left me with all his work strayed out of thought and time. As a result of a fair and balanced mutiny, I have found myself in the captain's chair. This new era of Dread Pirating will hopefully be looked upon favorably by the wiki mods in the future. I also wanted to say a few words to the wider community just while I'm making an Arrgh Announcement: Arrgh Game Night/Day(s) - Arrgh has been on/off hosting regular game nights featuring Poker (betting PnW money!), Secret Hitler, Among Us, Cards Against Humanity, World of Warcraft, Sea of Thieves, and many others as time has gone by. If this is something you'd be interested in, feel free to stop on by our discord server for some fun. Mercenary Contract Offerings - Our business is killing noobies, and business is booming. If you have someone you want to see hit, swing by the Arrgh server and open a Parley ticket with us. Don't waste your money on a bounty that might one day get taken when you can pay a pirate for immediate results. Pirate Insurance - Is Arrgh bullying you too hard? Fear not, we may be pirates but we are also businessmen. Drop by and open a Parley ticket and witness our merciful/greedy nature. A Renewed Commitment to Paperless Politics - Arrgh has long sat isolated from the world, looking to mind our own business while raiding your pockets. It has become very apparent that the world needs Arrgh as much as Arrgh needs your loot. The complex and obfuscated web of writen, implied, and secret treaties and agreements has grown far out of control. Arrgh is here to renew our commitment to helping people shred their paper and break their chains. Our embassies are open for all those who may need a little extra assistance getting out of their entanglements, with the caveat being they also commit to removing as much paper as possible from the game. Thank you for your time, I hope to see you all out on the high seas! Arrgh! pictured: Ripper handing off the Grand Admiral role to me.

  3. t$ and TKR's mistake has been trying to appease you lot rather than cynically doing what you've been accusing us of doing since january/february. I agree on that being a mistake. It absolutely changes nothing about the hypocrisy and double dealing involved. It's been made clear that short of us breaking up, very little (if anything) would have prevented the course of events that unfolded. And (but this is a matter of guesswork), even if we did break up, I would absolutely be surprised if certain parties did not swing for portions of our sphere anyway *because grudges presented as DyNaMiSm*. Further "corrective action" was frankly not tenable as we were locked in our position the moment the premature screeching began. I'll again note that I don't disagree with your assessment. Perhaps i've grown soft; we were given the impression by various parties (and hence our outrage) that they wanted to do things differently. Masks have come off in that respect. It was less about us (at least from t$' POV) "wanting" to make minispheres work. We did not want to take the villain role yet again however, so we limited our political movements (see: treaties etc.) and refused to opportunistically swing for single spheres on a few occasions when it would have been expedient. Strategically a mistake, I agree. Live and learn. At this point you've lost me charles. Either this is a war of t$' making, dragging poor TKR along with us. Or we are fools who got fricked by "multiple parties banding together out of mutual interest in a war that was gonna happen either way". Pick one.

Let it be known that the freebooting pirate anarchy of Arrgh sails the seven seas. Our thirst for glory and plunder be as fierce as our thirst for rum, that be fierce indeed. 6. An option to turn on notifications for certain things and turn off for others. For example, you don't want to be notified about some denouncing your nation. It should be an option to turn that off.

  7. Simple idea: on the create offer screen, have text displaying "Min. Price" as well as "Avg. Price". Bonus suggestion: I do some cryptocurrency trading irl, the graphs on cryptocurrency trading sites are pretty lit. Maybe an open-source graphing tool like this might be good: https://www.chartjs.org/chartjs-chart-financial/ This would probably be more work than it's worth to implement, though. Just felt like throwing that out there.

  8. There's so much wrong with everything you just said, Charles, and it contradicts so many of your side's points, that I don't even know where to begin. Thanks for surpassing Phoenyx for most amusing post of the evening.

  11. This is the part you really don't understand, defensive and offensive are the same thing here If you do defensive paperless ties between HM, Swamp, and Rose you're actually planning a dogpile on Quack Since we are not here to die of boredom so sooner or later Quack is going to attack someone I'm not going to read any reply longer than 3 lines and/or any reply which contains Ronnie, Tyron, or Boyce ps: my master, my sweet love, his holiness, my majesty, daddy, the owner of all my orifices, all count as Tyron

  12. Hola, amigxs. I have been requested to provide another rousing episode of Zed's Acoustical Experience. However, I have been unable to do so ever since hostilities began both in my personal life and in Orbis. With that said, it has occurred to me that some of your gentle persons are scholars and intellectuals of keen mind and spirit, and you would appreciate the written word as much as the spoken word. Alas, while I cannot bless you with my soft rustic accent, you can take some heart in hearing it narrated through some most loquacious and exhilarating written word. Today I will be writing an exegesis of the fine scholarship you see linked here, while relating it to the events taking place on Orbis right now. I was extremely disappointed to learn of some of the sloppy scholarship in references, in the same way I was extremely disappointed to learn of various parties of Orbis and their plots of hegemony. It is quite clear that in the referred article, Novel rhinovirus responsible for newt eye infection, Ms Granger should be the lead author. Messrs Potter and Weasley have had multiple accusations of plagiarism levied at their work, to say nothing of the sloppiness of Mr Potter's theories of mice being on the moon Europa. While it is true that the number of nuclear detonations in Orbis have rendered Europe at -100% food production, and doomed it to be an icy tomb continent for many months, such theories are baseless and unfounded. They are far too speculative to be included in a serious work of scholarship. Regarding, Treatment of Karenovirus infection with processed food, I was alarmed to see that an actual scholar and inventor, Ms Cheeks, was not lead author. I understand that one of her co-authors, Mr Squarepants, is more famous and speaks with more authority on matters; however it is really a curious act as to why primary actors would supersede more accomplished scholars and workers in such an important article. Similarly in Orbis, to consider someone like Prefonteen to be the leader of a sphere is noble, but Prefonteen does not even drive the narrative in his own alliance! I wish I had more answers to solve this problem, but alas, I do not. I did not have any arguments in relation to the author order in, Prepare for trouble: Coronavirus outbreak reaches North America, as it is quite clear to me that Ms Jesse is the more experienced author over Mr James. I would hope that they make it a double if they submit future work, as an inverse to my hopes on the outcome of the latest global war being run back for a second time. To see scholarship from no less than 15 different versions of a person named Ms Joy, all with the same profession in nursing, was truly astounding. While it is not always clear regarding their credentials; RN, LPN, MNP, DNP, etc., the disambiguation of names here was. I was also extremely impressed by the quality of their work. It speaks to the need to have a method of sorting out any potential ambiguities in research narratives. I have seen many recent failures of differentiating the narrative from ambiguities and issues of late in Orbis regarding certain preplanned hostile actions, and I cannot understand why this is the case. The $yndicate's Vice President of Global Operations, Batavia, recently went on record about his involvement with previous alliances who occupy high positions in pantheons of immortality. He is generally a more silent figure in terms of his global profile, so I found it very curious that he would speak out so freely about these alliances. I felt much the same way when reading, Phobia of Bats and Its Applications in Criminal Justice, by Mr Wayne. The Dark Knight is generally loathe to be unmasked in the public, and his dealings on both sides of the law at times, combined with his high moral code and integrity, mean that such public statements when he is not called upon are quite rare. Love caught in the fire revolution would be a wonderful title for the happenings of 30 city nations down-declaring on 12 city noobs, just as it was with the work of Dr Zhivago. Nothing further needs to be said here. Phoenyx has written numerous forum threads that sometimes entertain, and sometimes do not rise to the occasion. A thread in multiple parts is always useful, just as shower thoughts can be. I found a similar comparison to be made with, Similarities between politicians and fictional bears, part xi., as Messrs Pooh and Milne have written. Of critical analysis in that article is the following quote, which I will post here raw for your your own discernment as to how it relates to the multiple posts by other members of the Orbis Community. From there, it is worth pointing out the similarities between this and, Comparative methods of involuntary movement restriction as applied in Wuhan and Xinjiang. Numerous commentators have indicated that Quack seems to have some sort of gag order on its members, to prevent them from making forum posts. This is blatantly false. If it were true, you would not see this wonderful effortpost by yours truly. In the same manner, favored people such as Eumirbago, also known as Big E, are only reserved expressly for the most serious and serious business posts. We are all blessed by Big E, and thus we should feel grateful when he provides us with his posts. A group of four Renaissance Painters have written a very fine article in this piece, showcasing their all-around talent. Effects of exposure to sewage on martial arts skills in turtles, demonstrates how certain swampy conditions may have an impact on how creatures may fight. There is no indication that such methods would be applicable on Orbis as of yet, but it should be noted that some pirates may have stories on the high seas to corroborate or deny these feats. There are undoubtedly some people who would want to say, "Zed's dead, baby. Zed's dead", following the conclusion of this post. As above with the gag order, I decided to make this exegesis without tacit approval from Prefonteen. Besides, isn’t it more exciting when you don’t have permission? Correctamundo. And that’s what we’re gonna be. We’re gonna be cool. Just because you are a character doesn’t mean that you have character. What is significant is that I felt the touch of God. God got involved. If my answers frighten you then you should cease asking scary questions. When Messrs Winfield and Vega wrote their latest academic work together, sadly their last by the way, What do they call a predatory journal in France?, they asked many of the same questions. If you are looking for a tl;dr on this post, you won't find it here. Look, do you wanna play blind man? Go walk with the shepherd. And finally, in this analysis, a gentle public health reminder. Global pandemic or not, The importance of handwashing in Aipoms, still rings true. Wash your hands people. Please.

  14. So i’ve come up with a few suggestions for the commend and denouncements system after seeing it go into affect for the past 24 hours(and witnessing Alex purge all my commendations at midnight lol) It would be great to add the option to remove notifications for commends and denouncements in settings. This would help those that don’t like seeing 50+ notifications appear overnight only to find out it’s for a cosmetic thing they may not care about. Second, remove Denouncements and Commendations from the nation activity log and add a page similar to the embargos page to show when they happen instead. While it is nice to be able to see them happen in nation activity logs, keeping them there will only produce negative effects. it will make the jobs for alliances’ gov departments harder or less efficient with commends and denouncements being able to easily cover up more vital nation activity stats like when war declarations happen or when they leave/join an alliance. TLDR: Give option to remove commend/denounce from notifications and instead of having them appear in nation activity log they appear in a new page similar to the embargo’s page.

  16. I dont think it should be removed from the score formula, but should contribute much less proportionally than it does now, giving score to improvements instead, in a balanced way, would be more indicitive of both military and economic output.

  17. Idea 1 - "Strategize": Use MAP to have higher MAP maximum capacity A player can choose to sacrifice MAPs here and now, so that they can have a larger maximum of MAPs in the war. Maybe the numbers can be adjusted a bit. I'm thinking 1 MAP used to increase maximum capacity +2. I think this would add a bit more strategy to the game - a player using this action would be wasting that 1 MAP unless they go to full capacity, and their opponent could likewise gather more MAPs, or rapidly attack so that they gain an advantage before their opponent unleashes their load in a burst. Idea 2 - Two MAP "Minor Ground Skirmish" Similar to a ground battle, but the player is only able to use 50% of troops and 50% of tanks, can destroy maximum resistance of 7. This is purposely less efficient than a ground battle in terms of soldier and tank count. In most situations a player would be unwise to use this instead of waiting for 1 more MAP, but they may be willing to take the gamble in certain situations (low resistances by both sides of a war). Also, impatient players may also have to fight the urge to make a less efficient ground attack!

  18. I'm not sure I like removing infrastructure from contributing to nation score. I do like improvements contributing to nation score, though. Perhaps different improvements could have different weights (e.g. each coal mine is +5 to nation score, iron mine +7 to nation score, etc). And certain projects should have more weight to score - this guy I fought recently is ~1k nation score and has the nuke project (and is very willing to use them!)

  19. Greetings all. As best I can tell, the only use for score is to exclusively to set the boundaries for who can declare war on whom based on those nations' abilities to militarize and make war. Based on the current game mechanics, infrastructure does not affect a nation's ability to militarize nor make war. The things that affect that are 1) city count, 2) improvement count, 3) project count. One might point out that improvement count is linked to infrastructure, but it's not. Plenty of nations out there with a full complement of improvements and only 200 infra. Improvements themselves are the enabler for military. In order to reflect the actual warmaking ability of a nation, score should not be inflated by infrastructure, or at the very least, infrastructure's contribution to score should be slashed viciously. Otherwise we end up with absurd, lopsided scenarios like 32 city nations declaring war on 16 city nations.

  21. Say what you will about me, but I definitely don't agree that no one in any sort of meaningful positions wants the truth to be known here. It's one of the reasons that so many people were calling for logs in the past. I may have said most of what I want to say regarding the initiation of the war. Seeing as I may not get any more of the answers that I'm seeking anytime soon, I'm thinking that perhaps tomorrow, I'll draw up my current conclusions on things and perhaps leave it at that, we'll see.

  22. Winterfell: Zygon, Daveth, and Sval the Maleficent were feasting together in the Great Hall. The Nexus Coalition had just returned from a successful venture beyond the Wall to put down a Wildling army. “My favorite moment was when Sval turned all those kids into toads.” Daveth was saying with a laugh, “Truly as Maleficent as the Pacificans claimed.” The three leaders clashed their mugs together and drank heavily from them. A maester burst into the hall and made his way to the King’s table. “My Lord, I bring an urgent message for you. It, it wasn’t meant for us and the page was blank at first, until some water leaked on it.” He held out the paper to Zygon, who took it and read before passing it to Sval, who in turn passed it to Daveth. “My Lords,” Zygon said “I believe we all understand what the contents of this message imply and I also believe that we all understand what our duty compels us to do.” Daveth and Sval nodded, “Aye,” Sval said, “Let’s rally the troops and ride south.” “You stole the words right out of my mouth.” Daveth said with a grin The Commonwealth’s Camp: Putmir woke up to find that the air had grown cold in the night. Freezing in fact. He rolled off his cot and stumbled outside. Ice covered the ground and as he gazed around the camp, his eyes settled on a hill just beyond the entrance. His heart sank into the pit of his stomach. Beyond the encampment stood an army. In the center were the legions of Carthago and House Stark infantry. The rearguard was held by the Order of the White Rose, the most maleficent mages the world had to offer. On the flanks stood the cavalry of House Stark but those were not any ordinary mount that they rode upon. Direwolves the size of Horses and with teeth as sharp as a dragon’s were ready to race down the hill and encircle the camp. “Sound the alarm!” Putmir yelled. “Wake up! We’re under attack!” Around him the camp burst to life as the Commonwealth’s army arose from their slumber. Soldiers ran around in bits of their armor, struggling to belt on their swords. From the hill, Putmir heard three blasts of a horn. Chaos erupted around him. Fire began to rain down from the sky, melting the ice and turning the ground in the camp to mud. The Direwolf cavalry made their charge, encircling the camp and then rushing inwards, breaching what few fortifications Putmir had ordered to be made. In a panic, the Commonwealth soldiers rang out of the entrance to escape the bloodbath that surrounded them, looking for any chance to escape, only to be met by the shields and swords of the Carthaginian Legion. Blood leaked from the camp, just as the intercepted message had leaked the plans of the Commonwealth. Putmir looked around him and wept, for Sphinx had done diddly messed up. TLDR: Nexus declares war on The Commonwealth for plotting to engage in warfare against the Nexus Bloc and her allies. Look at the war stats here: CTOwned - Politics And War Stats [spolier] file:///C:/Users/mpnor/Downloads/Direct_Messages_-_Private_-_Boyce_the_Great_762528858145685524_2020-10-13_to_2020-10-15_3 (1).html [/spoiler]
