  1. With the recent firestorm of beige under some form of control I'm shifting some focus towards content that was being discussed in the earlier part of this summer. Quality of Life Changes: Alliances have the ability to create up to 8 alliance positions, 5 more than the default 3. All alliance roles will come with a check list for which powers those positions have. Bank Access Changing Roles Ability to see spy counts Ability to see daily reset timers (time zones) Editing Tax Brackets Accept new members View member caches Notification when a war expires Alliance Trades offers also show in the global trades. These trades will show in a different color Alliance tax brackets can be changed in bulk (multiple members added at once) Alliance leaders (with appropriate access levels) can see the time zones for members. Ability to sort members/applicants by “Last online”. Move expired treaties to an “Archived” tab. Treaties can be extended rather than deleted and resent. Allow for alliances to issue embargoes for other alliances. The embargoes auto activate but give a notification to the member with the option to remove the embargo. Add a mass buy feature to Land, similar to Infra. Added Allow players to send direct trades of resource for resource New Domestic Policy: Rapid Expansion - 5% discount to land purchased - Added Additional Project Slots: At 50 wars won At 50 total won or lost, gain a project slot At 200 wars won At 200 wars total won or lost, gain a project slot At 100 wars total won and/or lost, gain a project slot. Raw Resource Project increase: Coal, Oil, Uranium, Bauxite, Iron, Lead production rates increased from .25 per turn to .30 per turn, giving a total increase of 3.0 per day to 3.6 per day. Production is increase by about 16.7% without factoring in the bonuses from multiple mines. Having max mines would net an additional 8.3% ish increase. New Project: Terra-forming Money: $3,000,000 Coal: 1,500 Lead: 1,500 Effect: Reduction in cost of purchasing land by 5% Note: Costs similar to CCE project New Project: Medical Breakthroughs Medical Research Center Money: $10,000,000 Food: 100,000 Effect: Hospitals disease reduction increased from 2.5% to 3.5% each. You can build an additional hospital in each city. Note: Costs similar to Recycling Initiative project. This project is more focused to tie into future changes. While it might not seem very relevant now it will have more importance in the future. New Project: Specialized Police Training National Policing Academy Money: $10,000,000 Food: 100,000 Effect: Police Stations crime reduction increased from 2.5% to 3.5% each. You can buy an additional police station in each city. Cost of each police station is increased from $750 to $1000. Note: Costs similar to Recycling Initiative project. This project is more focused to tie into future changes. While it might not seem very relevant now it will have more importance in the future. New Project: Advanced Engineering Center Requirements: Center for Civil Engineering, Terra-forming Money: $50,000,000 Gasoline: 10,000 Munitions: 10,000 Uranium: 1,000 Effect: Reduces Infra Costs and Land Costs by 5% All projects added. 2. Hello to you too. I'm a friendly person, with a healthy relationship with my girlfriend, please stay away from my rear, and do not touch my cheeks. I do not consent to this.

  3. I just woke up, @Prefontaine, so bear with. Just a random thought that jumped into my head....let's call it a 'Project Stack'. Instead of adding project slots due to wars won, have the game system 'stack' the associated planners in 1 slot, instead of 2 or 3. Examples: If a player buys all 3 satellite projects, the game could 'stack' the 3 Satellite Projects in 1 slot. The player will be 'rewarded' with 2 extra slots for having 'collected' all the satellite projects. Same-same with the Civil Engineering, Advanced Civil Engineering, and Terra-Forming Projects - all would be 'stacked' in 1 slot, opening 2 extra slots. Same-same for City Planner and Advanced City Planner - both 'stacked' in 1 slot, opens 1 extra slot. Selling a project that's part of a 'stack' of 3 or more projects, a player would need an extra slot or slots open for the remaining project(s) to 'unstack' into separate slots again, due to the loss of the 'stacking bonus' involving the extra project slot or slots. I don't see how wars won equate with project slots....seems that's kinda like a 'random' idea. Project slots equate with number of cities and infra, even though I have the 200 wars won. Good ideas from you an' the rest of the Orbis Think-Tank herd!

  5. Crucifixion you say? First you wish to touch my cheeks, now you want to nail me? My girlfriend will certainly be giving me an angry call tonight. Will you at least call me after it happens? We can go get supper? Also, if I get crucified, do I get a cool religion like that one guy?

  6. Genuinely annoyed to even have to waste space responding to this off-topic comment in this thread, but I take serious exception to one of the most disliked and toxic members of Orbis pointing fingers at anyone. In this case, you are pointing fingers at my trusted FA high gov and leader of one of our protectorates, Oceania. Just because Cooper and Citrus get off-topic from time to time doesn't make them toxic. They both are working to improve the game and have fun doing so, neither of which is something I would not confidently say about you. Unsolicited input alert! Maybe instead of talking about making changes, you should coordinate with your own gov and existing allies to take the actions you keep discussing. Everyone I've spoken to is unclear on your goals, positions, and actions. And don't think that the coincidental timing of this is unnoticed. The only place that UPN seems to want to communicate with anyone is in this thread, and in doing so demonstrates why @Malal had so much ungranted power - everyone else sat around and waited on him to act. Additionally, the silence from the "new" AA high gov is deafening. Trotting out an honestly innocent and inexperienced newly elected low gov member doesn't help change the narrative. We should be seeing and hearing from @Matt2004 and Noreen regularly, and the fact that your allies have no idea what is going on is only exacerbating the existing narrative. Newsflash, because it seems nobody from UPN knows what is going on: Acadia is all but gone now, and you waited way too long to start making changes.

  8. Peace talks ended over six months ago. The war had been going on for eight months prior to that. During all this time, I'm pretty sure I never heard a peep from a single other soul in UPN besides ST6, who was also pretty scuzzy in talks. Where were you all then? Why is this an issue only now? If it was an issue before, why has it taken so long to be addressed? You seem to be under this belief that the issues the community has with under are solely under's problem - they're not, they're yours too. Under was acting as a representative of your alliance. There were so many things you all could have done to address all of these issues months ago and to start interacting with the rest of the community again and yet it's only been radio silence. I don't know what went down and your alliance's business is your own in the end but how this looks is you throwing under out because you're afraid you might get smacked at NAP's end because of him. My thoughts on under himself are irrelevant to my thoughts on your handling of this situation; he was your person for six years and I'm not going to sugarcoat how poorly this reflects on you for unceremoniously dumping such a long standing member. They are two separate "complaints", as you say. Under was not your leader. If there was a transparency issue, it's your leader you should be looking at. At the end of the day, that's who's responsible for the direction of your alliance and the dissemination of information. (And honestly, you can't pretend you didn't know - the peace talks were plastered all over these forums.) Good luck with your new direction and in forging a new path. You'll need it.

  9. Yeah, I gotta say I never really thought the day would come that I agreed with Kastor but this ^ x1000. I don't know what happened here, UPN, but I find it pretty unbelievable you just kick banned someone who has been with you for over six years and single-handedly makes up 100% of your voice and external identity. If that itself was the issue, you put him there, you enabled him to do what he did and allowed him to be that representative for your alliance so if there are any consequences from that, you should have suffered them together.

  11. Roast UPN all day long but anyone saying they should've stood by Under... nah. He should've had the boot so much sooner. Years sooner. He's been a running meme in the community on par with Inst for as long as I remember playing PnW. Don't actively encourage people to stand by toxic people because of alliance seniority. Grow a spine, grow a brain, get out of that tribalism mindset. Hopefully UPN are actually washing their hands of him and this isn't just a show.

  12. Great stuff. Two things: 1. Is it possible to change the additional project slot requirements to wars fought instead of wars won? I think that would make them more accessible since it's mostly raiders with a high wars-won stat (due to the nature of the beige mechanics, before and current.) 2. Because the amount of project slots accessible to new nations are thin, I don't think the first land project helps them (as I'm assuming it was meant to target them), I would either combine that with the second project and increase the cost by 200%, or leave it as a second but more expensive project (100% more than the second one, perhaps). I reckon only really large nations will be using it, anyway. Alternative to 2. Make even more additional project slots that are accessible to newer nations. Even right now as a city 21, I'm maxed on projects, having left a lot of useful ones out due to lack of project slots.

  14. Welp I'm a forner UPN member and for that I have a bit of a soft spot for it, but this does seem like a desperate attempt at not getting rolled for backing up the cheating scumbags of NPO till the very end when they tried to kill the game. Getting rolled isn't so bad, I was in the shit tier during that entire war while IQ used and then double crossed any alliance they could. Y'all should either have booted Under and distance yourselves before it was too late or simply support him till the end. I don't really wanna see you get rolled but tbh I feel a lot of bad blood here and I can't blame anyone for that in this case. Idk what went on in peace talks but that war and everything that it brought can make people want revenge. I myself have let it go but I most certainly understand why some might not feel that way.

  15. All I'm reading are excuses. You disliked Under's actions but reelected the Prime Minister again who was responsible for making Under a representative of your alliance during peace talks. Your Prime Minister was inactive due to irl issues but he and you all failed to replace him with someone who was not inactive and could've kept Under in check if it actually was such a concern to you. You were aware of what Under did but couldn't be bothered to speak up against it because he was your "source of information" basically coming down to the fact, that you were all just too lazy to inform yourself about Orbis and PnW and other alliances. (On a side note: Considering how condemnable you found his actions, you still believed that he was a good source of information? It did not dawn on you that he was presenting you a heavily skewed version of things considering that you were aware of how he was behaving during peace talks?) Let's be real here. For the past few years you were always able to stick to your alliance with Acadia because at the end of the day you could always hide behind the power that were NPO and BK. Just like the leadership of Acadia and Polaris, this whole thing completely went to your head and you thought yourself in a most comfortable position where you were calling the shots. This then failed because your big protectors were all involved in an elaborate cheating scheme. So what follows is white peace and six months of peace during which you all went radio silent. After six months of said peace during which you had plenty of time to make amendments, you then drop the person you consistently rallied behind (a lack of speaking out or taking consequences does not exclude you from guilt) in an effort for a last minute publicity stunt. And then you try to "explain" it away in good old fashioned IQ style with nonsensical excuses like "Our PM was away for 14 months" and "We only just had an election for the first time in five years". Anything I forgot? Edit: Also the fact that matt let's you all now take the heat instead of speaking up himself here really says a lot about his leadership in all honesty.

  19. 1) It would have to be wars won + wars lost. Problem with wars fought is me and some buddies could just sit around in do nothing wars that expire to get the project slot. That would be slot filling, sure, but I don't think we want to push Alex regarding slot filling right now.. For.. Reasons. 2) I wouldn't say it's 100% for smaller nations due the benefit for land reduction is low. I do get the project struggle for newer, or smaller players. I'm more in the corner of adding new methods to gain project slots. Alex wasn't too big on the idea the first time I pitched that, but we got a few out of the deal. If I keep steadily sprinkling them in maybe he won't notice >.> I think you're missing the new spy system. The spies you build go into an undeployed status after being built. While undeployed they cannot be killed, they don't defended you, and they cost less upkeep. Once you've built up as many spies (up to your max) as you want, you can move them all to active status where they function as normal. Effectively you can rebuild to max spies without risk of losing the spies your rebuilding.
    2 points
  20. Part of the dev group discussions regarding spies has talked about reduction in casualties in spy v spy attacks. To your other point, reserve system will let you rebuild during a war if you get 0'd out. The additional extras speed up the rebuild process by a few days while still allowing for people who 0'd your spies to gain the advantage of more freely using their spies against you while you rebuild and try to come back out with max spies.
    2 points
  21. i assume specialized police gives an extra station, but its just a thing pre forgot to switch while copy-pasting. i have a concern about the spies though. would it not be more beneficial to increase their recruitment rate, instead of keeping a few in reserve slots? as it stands right now, you can wipe out a week's worth of spies with just one operation. only being able to buy, at most, 4 spies a day isn't enough; you'll lose them much faster than you can gain them, meaning that if you're the first to lose spies, you'll be screwed in a war. @Prefontaine

  22. That's fair. I also argued for removing the 'meltdown-due-to-lack-of-funds' suggestion, although for different reasons. In any case, the part of the suggestion I'm arguing for currently, is the additional damage when a nuke strikes a nuclear power plant, which, doesn't add any new element of rng since the improvements the nuke hits is already randomized. I see it merely as quality of life improvement, and an open door for other cool little events that would add flavour to otherwise boring button clicking.
    2 points
  23. I pretty much stated my opinion on "events." RNG is the worst part of any competitive game, it cheapens wins and punctuates losses when random or semi-random rolls of the dice decide the outcome of things. As I also stated, this game basically is flush with balance problems. RNG tends to upset balance rather than add to it. I'm glad that the "event" basically got removed from the suggestion after two pages of debate To give input to the current OP: I think taking out the power of the city is enough of a punishment as-is. Sorry, I see some of the mods and Alex use this term. I'd like to quickly address that the game suggestions forum is a "vocal" minority of the game. There are only ten unique posters in this thread. Half of which disagreed with your post. Let's not mistake Game Suggestions as the place to hold votes for the next update. This is a place to pitch and debate the merits of ideas, but not a place to determine how well the userbase will receive said ideas. That being said, thanks again for making a suggestion. Always nice to see new people here.

I left on good terms to help Emmad and Victor Truchev in The Teutonic Order Then I deleted my nation left the game as a whole while I was deployed in the army. I'm well aware of the ill will towards my alliance and ive had enough of it. war wont solve anything we need to earn the respect back

  36. LOL he's in Test. Thank You. I see no issue either. I think it's the fact people wanted a reason to hit UPN because it was in Col B. Under was one of the people that gave Col A a hard time in peace talks. But at this point, I think its quite funny. I hope this upcoming global isn't just a grudge war. We don't need 8-9 months of perma war because people still mad.

  38. Rebutting all of you in one post without quotes for the sake of brevity. "I'm content-starved bored and therefore any update is a good update. Let's add negative events!" You may be bored but you aren't putting full thought into a random event (the meltdown) triggered by a typical circumstance (low money on-hand, especially during war). What you actually want is content and you'll take any you can get, even if it sucks. And this suggestion sucks, no offense OP thank you for trying. Instead, we should be focusing on player-driven content instead of "events." Maybe blowing up ANY power plant in ANY kind of battle or missile/nuke will give extra pollution for X days but with a reduced chance of power plants being hit. "This feels realistic because Chernobyl happened irl." Akuryo addressed this pretty well already. Nuclear power is typically one of the safer and more environmentally friendly options that exist irl. You very, very rarely see an issue unless something else triggers it ie- soviet incompetence or a literal tsunami. "Nuclear power plants are overpowered" ... This is probably the least thought-out statement I've seen. The problem is that nuclear power plants are the only power plant that scales while conserving on improvement slots and pollution. That's not an overpowered improvement, it's a list of useless improvements (the other power plants) that only serve the lowliest of noob nations who do not know better. We should perhaps take a look at improving those instead of trying to make the entire game a little bit worse for everyone because [see point 1 of this post]. tl;dr- no thank you. Random "disasters" are a horrible idea when this game already struggles with balance issues.
    1 point
  39. There's a saying (in programming community mostly) you might have heard of: *If it works, don't touch it* The premise of OP's suggestion is that nuclear power plants are overpowered, and they are not, power plants are not like other conventional imps, and as such they don't need to be compared to other imps, the imp that can shut down all my other imps needs to be a bit 'overpowered' and low maintanence than others. I wouldn't want it to start causing problems in mid of a war, or simply lose it to GA or Naval like banks or mines or have it act up while I am zeroed, might not be much for hippie farmers, but for players who are constantly at war, this is esp concerning. And ofc the implementation part, since this is not Nation States where you can randomly throw it as an event at all players equally and they'd all have to deal with it, you can only put it in war mechanics( and that poor thing has already been harassed enough), and it'd affect you and me differently. As I said above people who don't fight wars at all, whether farmers or whales at top, they probably wouldn't even notice this change, while I and others who are in war for most of the time would frequently spend loads of cash and resources (and time) fixing whatever problems this post suggests. (keeping in mind I am also not a fan of how Alex implements ideas). Both are totally fine. also, changes are not necessarily improvements.

At least stand by the member who’s helped build you since day freaking 1. Under, I’m not sure what’s going on, and I know that you are extremely toxic/terrible. But you didn’t deserve this from UPN. UPN should’ve burned with you. It’s like if Rose kicked Abbas or Kurdanak, I’d leave with them.

  41. That wasn't from a pirate, I've spent more time as a landlubber. (and I don't know him for that matter) As for why he shouldn't be sharing this thing, that's not because I reject opinions coming from new players, but because I'm afraid Alex might actually get ideas and implement those things without taking the thoughts of rest of the community into account, as he did when he removed beige. I'd rather not have any updates at all than have updates that ruin my experience.
