  1. ODN Announcement Whelp, as some have guessed, ODN is officially disbanding. I admit to being a little bitter sweet about it. It is 100% the right decision, but as it came time to make this anouncment, I found myself hesitating and feeling a little sad. Purely for nostalgia. But ohh well. Essentially for those who are wondering why, we were getting raided like two dozen times a week. And we had 15 members! So it simply wasn't sustainable, we had more wars then we did during the war. And note: I dont blame the raiders. I would have raided us too, they were just doing what raiders do. There was no one to 'blame' but ourselves for the situation. The reality is, our members are AWESOME people. I've known some of them for over a decade, and most of the new ones I met stuck with us through good times and bad. But we also just weren't very active. With one or two exceptions, they were a "log in once a week or two" sorts. Which, combined with our small size, is just catnip to raiders. We had an internal discussion, and folks were honest that we were unlikely to become MORE active. And considering that, it just seemed the height of foolishness to chug along with the endless raids for no reason. So that's it. The end. I want to thank Ampersand for protecting us these last few months, protecting us NOW as we finish our transition, and welcoming our new members who have come over. Even though they are gone, I want to thank NPO players still around who have remained friends even after the alliance is gone, You all will always have our friendship. And we want to thank Arrgh who are just flat out the coolest pirates on this planet, and great friends. They show that there's no reason you can't be raided with *class* and still remain on good terms. And finally to everyone else, friend and foe, who have fought us honorably, given us good advice, and genuinely made this community a fun place. I hope to see you all around the game in one place or another.

  3. People like myself care more about the semantics of the ID, than what the actual number is. It shows how long you've been playing, even for people like myself that have rerolled several times and kept the same ID through it all. However, if you allow people to manipulate their ID like this, it takes away that value.

  4. Seems like it's doing exactly what Alex wanted it to do: favor smaller nations who produce raws and compel whales to dump loads of cash on them. Slowing down the whales and encouraging quicker low tier growth. Also gives raiding some more viability which is nice as it encourages variety of playstyles and gives more active players in that range something to do besides playing farmville.

  5. Why dont we just give the richest player's in the game a panic button they can press which deletes the nation that's attacking them? Problem solved. Anywho, idk why you are trying to 1v1 raiders. Seems like a no brainer that if you want to protect your infra, you'd get people to counter.

Terminus Est is the banner the blood thirsty rally around in Orbis. Both alliances have roots that stem to the core of this world. Both sets of roots are intertwined. Bonds formed through combat. Against each other. Aside each other. In victory. In Defeat. Terminus Est hereby honors the retired pirates of Yarr with their protection. Terminus Est wanting all the blood for the Blood God refuse military assistance from Yarr (It's a one way street ladies) Sovereign alliances are sovereign. Signed for Terminus Est Signed for Yarr

  8. Pretty much what it says on the tin. Let alliances place embargoes and let their member nations opt out if they wish. Let this be against other alliances ir individual nations. A spy intel mission on said nation will let folks know if they are currently following thier alliance embargo or not.

  9. Problem: All that matters in regards to war is how many cities you have. This means raiders with more cities and no infra will always beat people trying to grow their nations. Making military size set by infra instead just copies CN and wouldn't solve the issue at all. Solution: Keep military size exactly as it is but let military building speed be determined by infra. E.G. A city with 1000 infra needs three days to rebuild army. 2000 needs two days and 3000 can rebuild all in one day. Now more cities means more military so you still keep that incentive and balance. More infra now is also worthwhile as you can rebuild faster meaning infra doesn't make you a sitting duck. Infra is expensive over 3k so encouraging people to spend up on it also sucks a lot of cash out of the game slowing inflation.

  10. Because Alex thinks it's reasonable or possible for an alliance gov to get all of their members to setup individual embargos, and to just kick them if they refuse. Alex doesn't play his own game, certainly not in any alliance or position that would teach him how misguided and myopic that viewpoint is, so that's the reason we get.

  12. I don't see any evidence of anything rule-breaking (i.e. cheating) going on. That nation has quite a bit of money (and resources) looted in their history.

  16. Queen Adrienne’s Reign, Two Year Anniversary Today, The Knights Radiant (TKR) announces the celebration of Queen Adrienne’s two year anniversary from her assumption of the monarchy as first Queen of TKR. During her two year reign, Adrienne has been omnipresent in Orbis politics, including warmongering leading us fearlessly into and through 5 official wars, helping to create Chaos Bloc, and the recruiting and adding of 259 new members. (Some brief members were scared off by her excellent leadership skills) We are additionally grateful for her economic leadership, which has generated multiple growth programs and a strong alliance bank. Adrienne’s leadership has continued to lead TKR to new heights and record achievements. A sincere thank you to Adrienne for her dedication and hard work, and the many of you who have partnered with us during her two years. On this day, from the awkward comforts of our own homes, we wish Adrienne well, and continued success in her ruthless so greatly appreciated leadership. Please join us here or on the TKR Discord server to share your well wishes and favorite positive memories from Adrienne’s time as leader. Signed, The Knights Radiant Membership

  19. Real-World Transactions for In-Game Materials Politics & War has a limited donation system to prevent the game from being "pay-to-win." In addition to limits on Credit usage, it is against the rules for players to make exchanges of real-life money or goods for in-game materials, including but not limited to: in-game money, and in-game resources. Examples of this type of behavior would include: sending someone real-life money for in-game money or in-game resources, purchasing someone a Steam game for in-game money or in-game resources, sending someone a gift-card for in-game money or in-game resources, and any other sort of real-world trade for in-game goods. The punishment for real-world transactions for in-game materials will be a complete nation reset upon first offense, and a permanent ban from Politics & War upon a second offense. What he did easily falls in real world transactions for in game materials. To argue otherwise would just be obtuse. As stated in the rules first offense is nation reset, which both NR and George did on their own. The Known Cheater EM has not done this, not that I blame him seeing as his nation is considerably more valuable than both NR and George combined and by an additional factor of 5-10x. The other reason you see such a push against the Known Cheater EM, is because many people believe his wealth "earned" thru Keno was done thru duplicitous means, which is fair seeing how he won the jackpot twice that has odds of 1 in 428,010,179,098

  20. "Nokia, the only one who actually cheated, gave 5bil to his friends and paid 5bil in debts" - Firstly, Nokia may have paid off debts using the money, but it can't be deleted because removing that ingame money would not be punishing Nokia but those who had absolutely no involvement in the cheating. That money can't be used to punish any of the cheaters involved at this point, and so is irrelevant. "The money, or any gains therein, was not in his possession when he decided, for unrelated reasons, to re-roll some five months ago." - Therefore, the only logical punishment that could be given to Nokia (as doing this does not warrant an actual ban afaik), is a nation wipe, as his monetary gains were used to send funds to other people, and in the end, he himself wiped his nation. All the possible punishments that would be given for the rule infraction have been occurred. Dressing this up as some sort of atonement is laughable. - Who, in this entire thread has ever suggested Nokia rerolling his nation was 'atonement', nobody is dressing him up as a martyr and many people (including myself) have repeatedly stated that the motives simply do not matter. It does not matter whether it was 'atonement' or not, and nobody is trying to paint it as such. Noone is claiming Nokia is either worthy of immunity or did this as atonement. He has undergone what would be the proper punishment for breaking the rules and therefore, there's no other action to be taken against him. Also, EM never cheated, he did not buy money nor did he sell money, all he did was connect a buyer and a seller, as was mentioned by Alex himself. - I think your own friend can respond to this far better than I ever could. I get a little irl money as most was sent to gorge - He did not simply connect a buyer and a seller, as he himself admits, either you're defending him knowing this or your buddy's lying to you. Make your conclusions as you will.

  24. Yeah, raw player numbers don't tell you the full picture if most newbies quit in the first week. Couple more months of recruitment and growth and if player numbers are near 6,000 then, most of the damage IQ did was been repaired. I wonder if changes to the war system to stop massive down decs would also help with player retention since newbies getting stomped by raiders on low Infra/military but max soldiers with x2 the cities is frequently something which causes large amounts of newbie attrition.

  25. Here's what I would classify as active players. Alex's advertising is working decently well, however I think new player retention still needs to be improved. I'm excited to see the new tutorial roll out, hopefully that will help a lot.
