Heaven has spoken. The gods have declared our time as a strong, independent empire is now over. As of today, the Ming Empire is just a memory. We have had four beautiful and prosperous years in PnW, what started as a CyberNations alliance founded by Diomedes and Trajan as Ragnarok become something more. The Ming Empire was an alliance of diversity, of friends from afar who joined to foster a sense of community and we are proud of that. And while we, the citizens of Ming are sad to see it fade into the pages of history, we are proud of our accomplishments, whether it be supporting each other or our allies, to reaching 50+ members, or joining the top 10. We go now into the beyond with hope and trust that our time here was enjoyable for all and that Heaven’s will be done. While our Mandate has expired, the gods have entrusted a new just ruler with their blessing: Valk of Rose. As fitting, our Empire will merge with theirs, becoming stronger. April Fools' Day was almost a week ago! Regarding this announcement, the official response from Arrgh is... "We are not sure whether we had too much rum last night or this thread hides some deception". As a general comment, when you read an announcement, it's better to crosscheck whether the in-game activities are in lign with it.

Literally none of what you mentioned is against the rules. Alex cannot and is not going to make judgement calls on if people are or aren't using VM legitimately as that is passing a verdict on their actual lives.

All I see is bk people sad because they're not in a swamp alliance.

@Dryad Simple answer:No, it's cities. Military is temporary, military dies. Cities are eternal, and reflect your actual combat capacity in a war, rather than your military level which will fluctuate heavily. Cities determine your fighting power more than military. I could sell down everything to slap some c11s, and my double buy would likely allow me to fight 5 at once and win. If the micro they're in is dumb, they may counter with more c11s who similarly die. Alex is attempting explicitly to stop that from being possible. Because my city count is my actual fighting capacity, not my military at the time of declaring.

Yes, but making it even worse doesnt make it better. Military needs to make up a good percentage of the score total. On the test server right now I can declare on someone my size that is zeroed while i'm maxed on every single unit. That is not balanced. It's good that he is addressing things that need change but it doesn't help if the change isn't a fix.

It's worth pointing out that when you go into Vacation Mode, you can continue to be attacked in any existing wars while you can't attack back. There's not much of an advantage to going into VM in terms of short-term gain in wars. As others pointed out, it's not against the rules to go into Vacation Mode (unless you're doing it to protect a lot of money and resources like an alliance bank.)

Do you know what the default flag was? Abkhazia? When you change the update time, you have to wait at least 24 hours for the new time to take effect, regardless of the test server or the live server. I think that's a bug on the live server as well. I wasn't planning on doing any awards anyway. This tournament is mainly to deal with the number of bugs caused by upgrading the server software so that we can resolve the issues and upgrade the live server software versions.

I think the issue is less about the number of messages and more about the idea that multiple recruitment messages are used at all. If it becomes standard for everyone it simply overwhelms new players with tons and tons of messages that they will start to ignore. And those messages are basically your start into the game, your first contact with the community. If you don't have that you will simply quit the game unless you join an alliance yourself. I personally don't think that the situation has escalated to that point yet, but i certainly think that now would be a good time to stop before it comes to that. (Then you could also argue that purchasing 5 identical player ads to make it show up more is also a bad idea, but that's a story for another time)

He's actually losing all 3 of them, something you'd know if you have any skill. While current resistance values support your claim, a cursory glance at the military of all combatants shows Mr Dave here will lose and be beiged by all 3. He has next to 0 planes, vs 1800, 1440 and 1260, all of whom have decent ground forces where another days buy/another airstrike on tanks would tip the scales in ground on their favor. In particular after next day change it is extremely likely one of the 3 will IT his ground, removing all of his GC, at which point his tanks and ships will not last the rest of the day. Think further ahead than just the next move. ?

Tanks, ships, infrastructure, and soldiers get a certain defensive value when they are targeted in airstrikes. Also, gaining ground or naval control increases the defensive value of their respective units by a certain percentage. For example, when targeting ships in an airstrike, each defending ship gets the value of 1 plane in the calculations for the battle. If naval control is established by the defender, each defending ship has the value of 2 planes in the battle.

You guys are doing this all wrong. You guys should do what Grumpy does, 0 recruitment, and then make new members pay 10million for the privilege to join your alliance. You guys out here sending countless recruitment messages and giving away money like a bunch of fools.

I can't duplicate this issue. What flag are you using when you have this problem? Doesn't seem to be a bug, I just forgot to clear all the old bounties I guess. I don't think that's a bug; those are the same mechanics that exist in the live server.

To reference the last war as justification for this update is dangerously reactionary. Seriously, it was unprecedented and ultimately rooted in foul play. Considering the two posts immediately prior to yours, I don't know how that could be made clearer.

Great people in this alliance, and building a fun community is a noble goal.

Whilst older players like ourselves had to wait 10 days for every new city right from city 2, we also benefited by being first in the door at a time when there wasn't a massive gap between the older tiers and the newer tiers. What Keeg proposed is just want way of helping to level the playing field and allow newer players to reach the higher tiers in a time frame that won't take years. It helps them and it helps the game in general since it will increase player retention. Probably Tweak the numbers a bit but its a very good proposal and I hope changes like this proposal are implemented into the game.
