Rommel's ~successes~ were often by sheer luck and not due to some innate genius. For instance, his foray into France earned his 7th Panzer Division the nickname of "Ghost Divison", not because ~it sounds cool~, but because he was often out of communication with his own troops and Army Group Command for extended periods of time and for advancing recklessly into enemy territory. He was incredibly lucky to not be captured or killed himself, and his division was very lucky to not be encircled and decimated. He was not involved in any plot to assassinate Hitler, but he was implicated and forced to commit suicide in order to spare his family. His close relationship with Hitler and his position in German High Command would also imply he was incredibly aware of the atrocities being committed in death camps throughout Germany and western Poland. Yet he continued to support the war effort and was against assassinating Hitler.

Rommel was an above average tactician with no ability to comprehend strategy in any meaningful way. He's a textbook case of the Peter Principle. His anti-nazism was due to internal power struggles in the last months of a dying regime. Hitler crafted a political scene of pure political darwinism and it bit him in the ass. All of this is understandable from a 90 second read of a goddamn wikipedia article, but yet here I am again, explaining basic history to yet another wehraboo middle schooler debate club participant.

Alot of them don't care. Most people see a nationsim looooong before they see a political sim. Nor do they have the time or interest to run those politics. The average membership will hate X Alliance because their government does. They're not entirely clear on why their gov hates them, but they're pretty sure it's a damned good reason and those guys probably deserve it. Meaning that the point you missed in a political simulator, is that for it to be accurate, the majority of people have to be the equivalent or everyday citizens in the real world, who know just enough to get angry but not enough to know why they're angry or why their guy is right. ?

I've said this in the discord, but I'll repeat it here. Just let others have fun. I thought this could be a cool little distraction from the absurdity of this war and the forums for the past half year+. We could've had some fun discussion about alliances, members, wars, etc. but in an atmosphere that removes many of our IC motives. This is an interesting interpretation of the rules and I would like to see what Alex has to say about it. I would not be opposed to having both my Nation Ruler Name and my Forums Username changed to "Master Joi," to make sure that both match each other 100% perfectly. "Joi" by itself is nice but it lacks the distinction of the ruling robotic class. We shall simply have to see.

Rule breaking is rule breaking. Its not difficult to stay within the rules. I doubt Alex is ok with drugs being referenced and advertised on this site where there are loads of minors. How can you hide profanity and be ok with such drugs being promoted in view of minors. If that is his stance I'd be disappointed. Your ruler name is different than your forum name, its a rather simple issue unless you think your above moderation. I don't think you understood, a stairs can be more useful and quicker in situations and denying building stairs is a form of discrimination, there should be ramps and stairs.

No, it doesn't. In wartime it's useless because the infra levels you're gonna have for 90% of it are levels at which commerce isn't viable anyway. During peace it's already worthless because your infra is either small enough you can just increase your infra per city by several hundred achieving far more benefits, or it's so high that you don't actually need extra slots anyway. Two slots, particularly applying only to commerce as they do, is useless. The only people who will buy this are whales with nothing else to spend on, and fools who think this is better than just buying from 2000 to 2500 in all their cities. Hint: it's really really not. It doesn't even beat 2500 to 2700 in my cities.

The alliance was supposed to be based on ancient aliens and the conspiracy theory of ancient humans from space who left pyramids and micro dyson sphere civilizations under Antarctica. There wasn't fascism in the alliance, the whole government system was that I was the sole leader and the physical incarnation of god throughout the existence of humanity. It had a slight homage to Highlander.

The Afrika Korps was definitely not "anti-communist" or fought the Soviets in any serious battle in Northern Africa. It fought the British Empire, the legacy of which even today was he fought versus the colonial armies (Indians especially). The AK for all of its "clean" image, was always an army that fought for the NAZIS, led by someone who was close to Hitler, and who at best was the hero celebrated by that Government till his eventual falling out over his alleged support for the July 20th plot. Revising history here doesn't do any good to somehow clean AK's image within this game. Khai/Skae and others weren't NAZIs and AK at large had no such connotation, since to me they were hardcore weaboos (same2same), from Entitei Ropurei and have always been consistent with the said themes. AK may have been a lightning rod to distasteful characters who'd see the theme and try to co-opt their views into AK, but were rightfully dealt with when brought up. Trying to use historical revisionism to okay the existence of the theme does a greater disservice to players who seemed more interested in the Girls und Panzer anime, than attempting any historical revisionism. The Afrika Korps will always be tainted for the country/system they fought for and were supported by and no amount of bleach/white-wash can get rid of that stain. Girls und Panzer/Weaboos on the other hand and players who have no interest in the name apart from an anime is a different ball-game to an extent, so attempting to connect the two, is a disservice to Khai/Skae and others here imho.

Yeah, idk how the anti-communism stuff would square with their theme. I assumed the theme was just related to the anime/wehraboo stuff and the anti-socialism stuff separate. There isn't really a need to adopt Afrika Korps to be against socialism, but it doesn't even make sense to be against socialism in the context of the game in Africa even. Are there socialist movements in the in-game continent? What would they even be doing? There have been Libertarian(recruited off libertarian websites like protest warrior), Conservative alliances, gun alliances, and so on that all had their RL beliefs against socialism as the unifying glue but extolled them without invoking Aryan supremacy and German militarism. I've always thought the theme was distasteful and could definitely attract the wrong type of people(some of the banned guys) for one, but I never thought Khai or Skae were nazis as they gave no indications of such. The theme isn't really defensible on the grounds of anti-communism; at best, it was an ill-conceived way to RP girls und panzer and at worst an intentional lure for the wrong type of people. It's the precise issue with these types of themes; they can't be truly sanitized or handwaved away as non-malicious. Like Shifty had Hyperborea to troll and see if he could get away with the invocation of estoeric Nazism but the type of people who surrounded him did have the real beliefs even if it's doubtful that Shifty himself is a believer in fascism in the real world, he was still doing stuff that caused him to be in that orbit.

So, this is literally to nobody's surprise, since I've basically been gone for months now, but I'm officially done. Tried to leave this game before, came back with the promise of doing interesting stuff, literally everything went wrong from day 1, and the game is somehow worse than it was when I left all those years ago. Pour one out for the Black Knights, one of the most fun things I've ever had the privilege of being a part of. How dare Superchola-X stand where you stood. I'd sit here and give a giant list of people I liked, but honestly, unless you're cumfire or the lapdog, I'm either indifferent or think you're cool. I might be an old man who yells at a cloud, but unlike those two, I always did it to people's faces, and I didn't change what I said based on where in Orbis politics we fell. Maybe they can learn some lessons from that. I'll still hang in the Silenzio server, if Psweet or Joel give enough of a frick to keep it going. Don't see why they would, in all honesty. All you're gonna see there is Shifty posting bad food. Would not recommend. I don't really have much else to add, so peace out I guess. It was fun while it lasted.
