  1. This war will go on until it ends. Done, finished, ended, lock this thread. First forums post, yay!

  2. Hello, Some of you may know me as a troll and that's fine, I'm proud of that lol. Anyways I have decided that I am going to quit PnW after nearly 4 years of playing. I have officially hit adulthood sadly and I have found a job. I am also starting college and have to maintain my social life with all this. To the people who I've argued with (and that's a lot) don't take it to heart it was only a bit of trolling. I may return soon but until then, goodbye! Also @Vincent Meyer you're the best person on the game. Special shout out to you! ~RyanK

  3. Don't forget to mention how RnR mysteriously dropped some allies last month when tS and friends attacked Grumpy/Guardian. Grumpy took a nice long look at RnR, but NPO decided to ignore thier allies' terms of war, and we had bigger fish to fry.

  5. The new, VIP only mass infra purchase button is a great idea. I have VIP expressly for this reason, and I will likely continue to have it for during and post war infra management... However, one issue I've noticed is that it only allows you to bring all to a single level; this means both buying AND selling infra. As such, if I try to buy up to a point that's below the city with the highest infra, it gives an error since I would have to sell improvements for selling infra to be valid. I can see two options for this; the most useful would be to have a tick box next to each city to confirm which actions to perform. In this way, you can go through and buy in a number of cities, but not have to worry about all 26 at once. Perhaps easier would be to have mass buying and selling separately; that is, not having sales and purchases happening at once. I believe this would improve the system to being widely useful in and immediately after war, and will help those who don't have the income to deal with all cities at once. -zig

  6. Sorry to interrupt your regular pixel burning, but I felt like talking about the pig-disgusting habit of pixel huggery. As Orbis is where it should be (with - almost - everyone reking each others' pixels), I thought it was a good time to reflect on this fascinating phenomenon, which directly correlates to war dodging. Over the years I've been playing this game, I've come to observe many people, and a few alliances in particular, repeatedly war dodge. The 2 best examples are Dark Brotherhood and RnR. DB is yet to participate in an alliance war (Yoda did fight a bit in Knightfall which led to some TKRsphere nations hitting DB but it ended quickly), having been around for a considerable amount of time. RnR, which has several nations that originated from the former (and also pixel hugging) RnR, plus a bunch of other nations versed in the ways of war dodging, is also yet to take part in an alliance war. Imo this requires a lot of skill, mainly political. I would have thought for sure that joining NPO's side would inevitably make DB finally fight, but apparently I was wrong. I hope at least they're serving as cash cows for their allies, which would somewhat help justify their pathetic existence. RnR is a slightly different case. Led by one of the biggest pixel huggers in the game (thanks for the embargo on my alliance btw honeybuns :*), you merely have to take a look at their war stats to come to the conclusion that we're talking about pixel hugging / war dodging professionals. Politics aside (I've pretty much stopped caring about them since Knightfall ended), I think this is where we as a community have failed. We used to talk trash about GPA war profiteering. This is much worse. These are neutrals disguised as real alliances. When you see several nations (some of them with incredibly low city count) with ridiculously high amounts of infra in one alliance, and p much the rest of the game is burning, you come to the inevitable conclusion that these folks have been outsmarting the rest of us pretty hard. So I just hope one day someone (I don't care who although I hope I'll participate) will finally roll this pixel hugging trash into the dirt, and make them see they can't always play in peace mode. I for one have been doing my part and will give a forum cookie to anyone who's kind enough to calculate the total damage I've dealt RnR with my solitary roguery.

  8. Its funny so many approved and yet Alex didnt listen he ignored us for too long. Now we rise up once more. As stated in the post above Water would serve as a food like resource with modifications. It would be needed in order for the nation to properly function like you see with food. It can also be traded like any resource in the Market. Here are some ideas with what you can also do with water. Water would be produced via Water Pumps which would be worth one improvement slot each. Power Hydroelectric Power Plants - this would turn water into elecriticty similiar to Oil, Coal and Nuclear Plants. Hydroelectric Power Plants are the most efficent power sources. Costs to build hydroelectric plants should be high but maintaining one should be pretty low as it would be irl. Nuclear Cooling - water would be used in order to keep Nuclear Power Plants at a safe level, a small amount of water would be used as to not make running nuclear power plants not worthwhile. If a nation doesnt have water the Nuclear Power Plant will shut down not being able to produce power until water is bougnt with a small chance of an explosion occuring which would destroy the Power Plant, destroy 300 to 700 infra, and give radation levels similiar to a nuke in the city. Military Water would be also used to keep Military Troops well maintained and operational. If troops dont have enough water they will be unusable like an actual military force would. Disease/Pollution Once a city reaches a certain size, water would began acting polluted and would raise disease and pollution levels, to combat this players would need to build Water Treatment Centers to combat this, they would work similiar to how Recycling Centers, Hospitals, and Police Stations work and the ratio of water pumps to treatment would be between 6:1 to 10:1. Projects Water Reclamation Plant - This would cost one project slot and once built will boost water production in every city buy an additional 25%, they would have no affect on water pollution rates. It would also be fairly cheap. If you have any more ideas with water please feel free to shate them.

  9. I've had the same problem @Sphinx which is why I posted in that different font. And what you said about wars making aliances stronger is obviously accurate. They help trim the fat and you end up with the troopers. I have no doubt that the likes of TKR and TCW are better alliances after getting rolled in the last global. Ultimately wars teach you basic stuff as well, like not rebuilding infra in a recently nuked city. Unless you had forgotten to put 2 nuclear power plants there and one got nuked ofc. Otherwise those are the basics that only war can teach a player. Plus war has a purging effect. I used to hate NPO back in my t$ days. Having fought them (several times) completely eliminated that feeling. Now I got nothing but respect for them, same for TKR which I used to hate back in my Arrgh and TEst days. Fighting (unless the opponents behave like dicks) helps build mutual respect, at least that's how I see it. So not only shouldn't alliances avoid war, they should see it as na opportunity to fight alongside allies, learn something new and even make friends on the opposite side. Some of the people I like the most in this game have fought me, and that's a pretty awesome thing in my book.

  10. I tried to reply to this before but the forum was glitching out for me, it still seems its just this thread which is making it hard for me to select text and to write my post...... Couldn't agree more mate, alliances that don't at least fight contribute nothing to the game. If you want to play a peaceful game of building a nation there are plenty of nation sim games on Steam you can play in single player where you don't need to fight or lose pixels. But this is a competitive game and pixel hugging shouldn't be tolerated. Also, Dreadnought war stats especially for a 1,051 day old nation are just pathetic: https://politicsandwar.com/nation/id=47239 War's make alliances stronger, they sort the chaff from the wheat. tCW is testament to that since KF made us stronger, despite us taking $120 BILLION in damages in that one war. But if an alliance has never fought they'll crumble very quickly. I don't expect they'll last very long if their leader's definition of taking massive damage is being nuked for $1.5 billion in damage. Also I don't think your thinking was off point, it was pretty spot on TBH. DB I suspect would handle being attacked worse than Quichwe and TFP do, which is an astonishing achievement if I might say so myself.

  11. Our entry in the Knightfall war was optional. I chose to assist when Partisan asked us for help. Admittedly we considered leaving Knightfall earlier but the decision was made to stay till the end after talking to some people. TKR was extremely persistent and nuked us till the very last day of Knightfall. It certainly did not "end quickly" As for the current war, I originally wanted to assist CoA with their front but three high gov members were on vacation overseas so the plan had to be shelved. Some of my gov members are teenagers; I can't expect their parents to leave them alone at home to fight a war in a browser game while the rest of the family goes on a family vacation.

  14. This is Shifty bringing you more details of just how far this happy family is actually a horror story. Who could this Silent be? Merging seems chill... Hey hey hey, no one talks about my Dusty like that Ahhhh, so that's who woulda merged Hey wait Shifty how did you get all this Solar info? Well I got it from second, third, fourth, fifth hand sources The info has been passed around like yer mum but where did it come from? ah well... Who's really behind all of this? Is BK sphere's greatest enemy really KETOGG, Rose, Chaos, and Alex who favors those damn whales? Or is it from within like when you can't shit, but the shit is giving you really bad gas and cramps. Kinda like what Cobber posts about on the daily. This is Shifty, reminding you that the difference between a sphere and Round Table Pizza™ is that the pizza can actually be enjoyed by a group of 4 or more.

  18. As a Former GPA pixxel hugger myself(staying clear of that stuff myself now going to Pixel-hugger Anonymous and everything) the only known cure for it is rollings so frequent that even the most ill of the membership will start putting pressure on the leadership to reform and see the light and glory that is the annual blood lettings of global conflicts...

  19. I've gotten a bunch of PMs about this already. It's very clear to me that it's the same person operating both nations based on: Similar activity patterns Multiple matching IP addresses Frequent use of the same browser (I'm not talking "Google Chrome" here, I can pull device info, browser version, etc. to get a pretty specific fingerprint from users based on how they're accessing the game.) Extremely similar e-mail addresses (think [email protected] and [email protected]) It's against the rules to have multiple nations, regardless of whether you're interacting or not. People who think that they can get away with having multis just because they're not trading between the two nations are wrong, and will be caught eventually.

  21. May I request clarification on what exactly determines if two players are multis, @Alex? I was under the impression that two players on the same IP are perfectly legal in the game unless they begin trading with each other or start mucking around with each other. Victor and Jalisco here are brothers playing from home, hence the same IP here, and at the very minimum, with how much Jalisco flames the hell out of me, they're very different people. As an edit, I checked the game rules, and this was what is said: Exactly what proof here is that the nations are multis if you've not even gotten the other side of the story?

  22. Hi. I'm the one that called your leaders deranged. I meant in game; you make deranged decisions. I also called you disingenuous. I have reasons for saying these things that are in character, so I do. For example: considering you disliked my post where I pointed out BK's head laughs about people being driven out of the game, I assume that you are only pretending to be concerned about these things when you can accuse other people of them for in game political points, and as such are full of it. You also recently referred to Quichwe as acting like a douchebag: there is really no consistent frame of reference that excuses that as okay, but sees your own leaders being called "deranged" as some totally unacceptable injustice. You revel in toxicity, as long as it's yours.

  29. Every alliance, has to have it's phase of growth, war and then growth again. This game is a cycle, you can't cut it off for pixels. Alliances who pixel hug after years don't provide anything to the game at all, they usually just stagnate at a certain point.

  30. I speak for myself and not the rest of Respublica Romana . I am new to the game and still learning the economic aspect of things before war aspect. Respublica Romana is extremely helpful for new nations. We had treaties on both sides. We were on a 1-10 scale 10 being declaring 1 being declaring perma neutrality till the end of time, we were at an 8/9 for a bit. above all, why must we participate in something that we don't really care about? Why must we be in a war we don't believe in? if that is the case why are you not calling on every alliance and nation in the game to pick a side?

  38. Back to OP, as stated in another recently locked topic many think war mechanics are "broken" allowing for long ass global wars, while I think that is true to a large degree, leaders/people are "broken" also- grudges, delusional thinking of equalising the "damage gap", more damage done being the only thing deciding the winner, soon there be harsh reps, willingness to drag shit on in hopes the other side looses more members then you, meaningless or not a treat alliances getting hit just because lulzs, unwilligness to put your membership first and give diplomacy a chance, stubbornly demanding ludicrious shit from the loosing side as peaceterms, neutralism similar to racisism only directed at neutrals, huge egos just not able to let shit go, hegemony building - Orbis has seen it all. There used to be wars here, even big ones, that were done in a month some conflicts even lasted under 5 rounds and stuff got handled, AAs could go back to normal peacetime shit, now that´s impossible and yes over all amount of resources plays a role but so do the people and memberships of AAs that are willing to accept long boring conflicts just in hopes the "other side" will give up first... So in closing this war I totally can see lasting till Christmas or New Years, maybe even longer...

  40. NPO entered the war on my birthday. It was the best birthday present they’ve ever given me, and frankly it’s sad when you feel that war isn’t something to celebrate and have fun with. I mean, who doesn’t play games on their birthday? Sad people is who.

  41. Adding my support to the "all wars should result in beige" idea. A couple other additional ideas: 1) War ends if no one has launched an attack for 12 turns. 2) If your opponent is in beige you can end the war. 3) You can't get out of beige until at least half your beige time has expired.

  42. As I await a reply from Alex, I thought I should appeal to have my home ID removed from the ban list. My old nation first named Foxhole then Ruination did not benefit from whatever tricks my brother Pooball used. I did not know about the exploit until Akuryo first posted about it here. I am honest member of the community and feel I have been treated unfairly just because of my family relations. I ask Alex and the mod team to review my situation again please. Blink

  43. Instead of jumping to the conclusion that Blink was a part of the exploit and using that assumption on grounds to ban him, I think the community would have better received the decision if you banned him solely due to him being unverified and not following the appropriate guidelines.
