1. Greeting Orbis PC Principal stopped by earlier today and set things straight After a long conversation we came to the proper decision to change the term slayyve to "Unwilling Employee". The term slayyve may be hurtful for some and so we apologize for that, all law suites should be directed to our Trade Mark Lawyer @Sir Scarfalot. Next we would like to apologize to @Sphinx @Epi @Elijah Mikaelson and all the others the term Slayyve may have hurt. Moving forward we promise to be more PC, and have signed the pledge to be more PC. Any questions regarding this change please contact @Sir Scarfalot *This change may or may not actually happen

 2. Hello, I just wanted to announce that just like everything I have created in life, ORB Website will be closing down in August. I am a failure and I have failed the ORB Site just like everything I've ever created. Now that the haters are writing their posts about how they saw it coming, I'll give y'all the true true. My RL is pretty darn crazy, my career has taken giant leaps which has pushed me into a position to be pretty gosh darn busy during work (where I'd usually spend a lot of time writing articles) and outside of work where I end up working from home/traveling (where I used to finish/write more articles). I am extremely happy with my career and where it is taking me, so I should probably focus more on that real-life career. Apart from that, its fricking summer and I have a dog. There is the sun to enjoy, lakes to swim in, places to visit & my dog isn't going to be here forever, so I want to work to give him the best gosh darn life any dog could ever have (he goes hiking with me and travels with me when I can have him). The website also is paid for out of my own pocket, I've messed with advertisements here and there trying to take a little bit of that out of pocket cost, but to be honest I've made $5.43 and I won't ever actually see that cash - you have to make a certain amount before you get a deposit and its not really worth the pain....and I really don't want people suffering from ads and popups....and its just hard to have a staff that is willing to write frequent articles and keep up with politics. So the site goes away - the server will still be there - server is easily manageable and I (and others) want to do some shows on there, plus I enjoy y'all on there sharing your life with each other there. PLUS Orbis Tribune posts up news there and that's just fricking rad. I appreciate y'all who helped the site out, participated as staff, and all of y'all who paid PW Cash for subscriptions when we first started. That cash went towards contests, payments, and stuff related to ORB more than it went towards my personal nation - so thank y'all for being cool with that. If y'all aren't in the ORB Server - come and join, hang out, earn some ORBs in the economy or just enjoy the random games we have pop up. There will be no next time for this, so seriously, thank y'all who actually supported the site. Love you forever...or until you cheat on me. Also, the Soup is Hot & So is Charlie and Kev.

 4. An Official TUE Announcement Regarding the ongoing and rather bloody war, TUE will be exiting effective immediately. While we of course wish to have been able to do more, we will only offer support to our allies in the form of encouragement from this point on. We wish all parties luck in this endeavor and particularly hope for the best for our allies. To our allies we salute you, and to our enemies we thank you for the good fight. As per the agreement TUE accepts the following terms: 1) TUE will not further aid our side in any way, shape, or form. This includes economic aid, espionage, and any other forms of actively aiding. 2) TUE will not re-enter the war and will send peace to all of our ongoing wars. "Hi guys i'm max and i'm a failure because i'm such a successful career man IRL that i'm too busy making money to write articles about a bunch of nerds flipping out over what other nerds said in a browser game where said nerds LARP as nations fighting each other." Max hun, i think i speak for everyone including your parents, this is the opposite of failure.

 12. Be well max! Your site was cool! This isn't a failure at all. You now have demonstrated you can build something like that, which is an awesome thing that will be with you in whatever else you do. Sitting around and thinking about things you could do and never doing them is so much more of a failure than having projects you make, and then move forward from. I had a lot of fun in your channel, and I hate everything, so if you don't knock off that kinda talk I'm gonna kick you in the teeth. All the best.

 13. I've had some ideas in mind for...probably over a year now, but I haven't really expressed them on the forum before. I figured now would be as good a time as any, since they might get new players involved or bring back older players. New subforums: Looking back at the National RP Archive, it's interesting to see the past subforums that were created with the hope of resolving specific issues the roleplay faced at the time. In-Depth Roleplay was the first one. It was created due to the growing number of shorter posts being made, with the goal of encouraging lengthier posts with more detail. Although it accomplished its goal, it was eventually retired for a couple reasons. Lengthier posts began appearing in the main National Affairs subforum, and the In-Depth subforum started being treated as completely separate from the main subforum's roleplay. Then along came Organic Roleplay. This was created for the purpose of establishing a more natural roleplay with less rules than the main subforum. It was eventually retired after community interest and activity died out. Lifetime of War was next. I'm not sure what that was, but it was the least active of the subforums to be created. The last subforum to be created was Map-Based Roleplay. It was created for the purpose of reviving the style of roleplay that used to take place in the main subforum, as well as creating a distinct environment for map-based RP not based on your in-game nation. This left the main subforum free for roleplaying the actions of your in-game nation. It also eventually died out due to the lack of community interest and activity. It should be noted that the rules attached to some of these subforums as well as involvement from moderators also turned off people from participating. My idea: Perhaps the reason I held off on sharing my idea was because I felt that it would only attract previous players instead of new ones, which wouldn't exactly resolve the activity issue. However, who will ever really know unless the idea is presented in the first place? The idea I had was to retire the Map-Based Roleplay subforum to the Archive (which doesn't prevent the two people still using it once or twice a month from continuing to use it), and creating two new subforums in its place. (You might be able to see why I held off on sharing this, since what's the point of creating more subforums when activity is non-existent?) Anyway, the first subforum would be for more realistic roleplay, similar to real life. The second subforum would be for fantasy roleplay. (Both of these wouldn't have to be associated with your in-game nation, of course.) The realistic RP would be map-based, just as the Map-Based Roleplay is now, and the fantasy RP would be based on a fantasy/fictional world. For example, it could be based on, say, the world of Remnant from the RWBY series. Basically, it would be something entirely different from just plain Earth. There are a few issues I can think of with fantasy RP, however. If a map was used from a preexisting story, it may just be easiest to do a roleplay based off the entire series at that point. Obviously not everyone will be familiar with the world that's chosen. Another issue is creating reasonably-sized provinces for whatever map is chosen if it doesn't already have them. The only solution I can really think of would be to find an original world with provinces already drawn, and letting the players shape the world as they go. My last idea, that I just remembered while writing this, is to have a roleplay that takes place on Earth, but during a specific time in history. One could take place during World War II. One could take place even further back in time, or in the near or distant future. For any of these, I'd suggest keeping rules and moderator involvement to a minimum so the roleplay can flow naturally. However, I recognize that these ideas are best-suited for larger and more active communities. I still wanted to share them and see what others think, though.

 14. Message from the Kingdom of Belgium Hey hey hey guys, it's your favourite monarch King 'Big Dick' Albert I of Belgium here. <<Disclaimer: King Albert I of Belgium is not responsible for any failed marriages as a result of him not being your favourite monarch>> So today marks the first instance of the Ministry of Cool Affairs' reports, these are made public so that other leaders can read this and weep in their own mediocrity. First order of business was a bunch of cool alien-dudes calling themselves the Guardians of the Galaxy came knocking at my palace one day begging me to lend my military might to their cause, when i asked them what they could offer me they all looked at eachother and in unison shrugged. My minister of foreign affairs told me that joining those brigands would be a bad PR move and would lead the nation into inevitable global conflict, i promptly fired him because what does he know about complex foreign affairs. Then i had him hung because he forgot to return the Hannah Montana boxset i lent him, he said he'd give it back but i call bullshit. Second order of business is that apparantly the nation got led into a global conflict, so i sent the Royal Air Boys to bomb some blokes calling themselves the Black Knights because that's what uncle Leo would've wanted. Third order of business is that my minister of war just informed me that BK is on our side of the conflict, so i had him executed for so carelessly wasting our time and money on the wrong dudes, seriously, what does he know about warfare anyways? After that i sent the RAB to a bunch of foreigners that like sniffing roses or something????? Fourth and final order of business is my brand new single called "B1G 4L OF B3" is hitting the market next thursday, a word of warning though; my court physician has concluded that side effects of listening include but are not limited to: penile extension, testosterone production increase, a manly as all hell beard, and wealth. So listen at your own discretion Albert out Peace

 17. WHEN STATISTICS PROVE YOU ARE WINNING BUT WHEN THEY AREN'T STATISTICS AREN'T EVERYTHING!

 18. Currently, if you win a nation vs nation war, you have no dictation over what happens next. Often, the beige timer that your opponent is going to get will leave them better off than if you didn't win the war at all- especially if there's no money to loot. Instead, I would suggest that as part of the act of winning a war, the victor should be able to declare terms. These terms could include all the things that currently happen, and more (and these are just ideas and examples); Loot from the nation, Loot from the alliance bank, Not being able to declare new wars for a period of time, Enforced debt (i.e. a portion of the opponents tax income is taken and handed to the victor until it is paid off), Not being able to buy military units above a certain percentage for some time, Forcible conscription of some opposing surviving military units, Destruction of infrastructure, Destruction of improvements (at random, so we can't forcibly choose hangars or power plants). A beige timer would still exist, but the number of turns spent in beige would depend on the harshness of the terms inflicted. Therefore, if you won the war, and you chose to not attach terms, the beige timer should be relatively short (for example, 6 turns). If you won the war and decided to inflict as many terms as possible, the beige timer would be much longer. The value of the terms inflicted, and thus the length of the beige timer, should be capped at no more than the percentage of resistance you won the war by. If you won by 6 resistance or less, you wouldn't be able to select any terms; if you won by 20, you'd be able to select maybe one thing, if you won by 50, something harsher, etc. These changes are one possible idea, I'm sure there's other better ones to be thought of.

 19. So right now i think we all agree that Planes are the strongest unit in the game, as shown by people claiming that plane counts are a good indicator of who is winning and who is losing, and by the fact that people now fight wars with plane only military strategies. Due to the over powering nature of planes, I feel that they should be worth more score wise. Right now in a city, a full complement of ships is 30 NS, tanks is 62.5 and planes is 45. I think we should double the ns score of planes to be equal to 90 NS. Aka I think we should double how much score a plane counts for. I feel like this change will give planes their proper weight in terms of their military importance, and it "may" just force people to use all of their military to fight rather than just their planes. Also side note, I still believe that as a larger city, I should be able to declare war on anyone that can declare war on me. So up declare range should be limited to 1.33 x their score not 1.75x, or the down declare range should be .5x score, and not .75x score.

 35. Both Terminal Jest under previous administrations and I personally have a longstanding history of accompanying any declaration of war with an outlined justification. We believe that -whether our counterparts and the community as a whole agree with our reasoning or not-, the provision of a reason beyond just shedding pixels is always preferred above wars for war’ sake. Over the past two weeks, I have received various requests for a presentation of our reason or war. When I posted the Terminal Jest's placeholder declaration of war, I intended to uphold that ideological tenet by eventually circling back to it to properly outline our Casus Belli. Unfortunately, RL circumstances (OOC: I am lazy as frick) led to a lack of time, and a long delay. You have my apologies for that. So… Strap in. Wall of text inbound! 1. Prewar leadup. placeholder 770 words in, it’s finally time to delve into the Casus Belli aspect of this wall of text. To all those who will !@#$ over the length of this post: frick you. 36. The forces of KETOGG and Chaos have achieved peace. All wars shall be peaced out immediately. We are pleased to report that total damages exceeded the amount Nova Riata spawned into the game, so your welcome. In an effort to continue our benevolent streak, KETOGG is launching a new program solely dedicated to building the self confidence of the Brave and Beautiful BK. After many interviews in which the vulnerable (But still very brave) BK poured their heart and souls out to us over their various insecurities, one insecurity in particular stood out. While most alliances trust their allies to have their back, to perform well in war alongside them, Brave and Beautiful BK has many doubts about the basic competence of The Covenant alliances. This is why they were so nervous bringing them in to fight against a much smaller force. KETOGG sees no better course of action then to test these allies ourselves. Should they fight valiantly (and competently), we hope this will give Brave and Beautiful BK the confidence they need. If they should flop over and die, then at least Brave and Beautiful BK will finally have the courage to cut ties from these bad influences holding them back. KETOGG declares war on Acadia, United Purple Nations, Frontier Records, The Commonwealth and Electric Space. PS: @Alex upgrade your goddamn servers capping API requests didn't do shit.
