Torture TKR with a whole bunch of election rigging BS for memes. Enumerated ideas: 1. Voters have to send in a hand-written ballot to a specific PO box 2. Voters must show an actual ID to vote 3. Voters are assigned a "district" randomly, and their district votes to determine which way the district votes 4. Voters are assigned a "district" by BK, and they have no say in the matter 5. Voters must get a doctors' note to certify that they're of sound mind 6. Voters vote for their preferences in order, instant runoff style. Then their votes are counted in reverse order (last choice is counted as first choice etc.) 7. Voters vote for their suggestions, which are forwarded to NPO, who then decides who actually wins 8. Voters have to pay $1m to Fraggle in order to vote, but if they pay $10m they can vote twice 9. Voters must vote for their preferences in order, instant runoff style... but they have to submit a confirmation ballot after the main ballots are counted 10. TKR and TKR allied votes count for 3/5ths of a vote 11. Everyone's votes are fairly counted, but anyone that votes against IQ gets rolled

We'd have to ensure that each individual vote is both different, and inconvenient/flawed in a different way. One is mandatory mail-in, one requires a government ID, there's a poll tax for one, you need a doctor to certify competence to vote for another, proof of highschool education, two are ranked voting and one has a manual run-off instead of actually using the rankings each voter submitted in the first place...

They've already given you the path to victory, @MinesomeMC. In the OP they told you it is not their goal for you to delete. That's how you beat them, that's how you show them. DELETE! Force the result of the war to be what they don't want and claim your victory!

I’ve seen this idea floated about different threads so I’ve decided to put it into one single post to talk about them (sorry in advance for terrible layout). Natural Disasters. I am against complete destruction of cities, because as others have said, nations with a large amount of cities have to pay a big premium to rebuild them again. As a compromise for this I suggest that Natural Disasters only destroy a certain amount of infrastructure/improvements, depending on what the natural Disaster is. Now, before everyone gets mad at me because they thought this would be “something like nuclear meltdowns that can’t be prevented”, I propose a solution to this problem. Preventability I propose that we introduce new improvements specifically designed to defend against these disasters, and even update improvements already in game to help as well. What I mean by this is (names for improvements are up for change, just a rough draft atm): Tsunami; preventable by ‘Sea Walls’, which safeguard a certain amount of infrastructure per improvement (say, one sea wall protects 500 infra against tsunamis), or ‘Sea Alert Systems’ (which provide and early warning for tsunamis that not only advises the player that one is incoming but also allows for less population loss because the population is “evacuated”) Meteor Strike; preventable by ‘Space Beam’ (a bit futuristic but raptors was once a suggested idea, which breaks apart the meteor into smaller amounts, and this smaller amount of meteor damages less infrastructure [basically the same premise as ‘Sea Walls’ but for Meteors]), and Subways (already existing, but can allow for less population loss against meteors), and ‘Space Radars’ (which gives early warning for the player and population) Bushfire/fire; destroys a certain amount of infrastructure per turn (but has a maximum for balance), preventable by Fire Stations (one fire station takes, say, four turns to fully stop a fire (and you’d have four turns of fire damage), however more Fire Stations = less damage. Fire Watch Towers, which can provide an early warning against bushfires. I also suggest some good nations events, which balance out the bad ones; Sales (Boxing Day, EoFY etc [either by random chance or IRL sales]); for one turn, commerce is increased by 100% (turn and percentage can change, this is why we have a test server). Nation Birthday; bit of an out of roleplay idea but I suggest when your nation turns one year older (either by game time or RL time) get some money or a boost to something (just a throwaway idea, not too serious on this one). Major ore vein found; affects all the natural resource mines in ONE city (bauxite, lead etc., excluding farms), and boosts their production for one or more turns. These are just some of the ideas I had. I haven’t done proper chance numbers in case my idea is well-liked by the community, but it is currently just a rough draft. Feel free to critique or add your own ideas.

They are all sweet especially these two first when they are covered with blood of their enemies. ♡ Also I expected that our babies will be countered by AD so things could be much more interesting. I don't think so CoS being top alliance was only reason to not attack them. More like we won't be fighting and bleeding just for MinesomeMC. CoS is more high tier alliance only few is middle tier or low tier. AD imo has better presence in middle low tier which could benefit in war. Maybe it's just me but I like challenges and expected more from this. Most alliances in this game are trying to play safe and I understand it but my wild nature says to me go crazy! (Like I was in Hate Machine, Oblivion guy spied me so I attacked him then I started alliance war so Rose needed to help Oblivion to get back from this alive. But at the same time I don't want to be bully so I am just trying to use somebody's bad behaviour to motivate myself to do crazy stuff like this and I don't really try to change the world, just have fun for me and people who were aggrieved like in Big Toxic C. case, not to mention even for raided people it is fun. I won't stop mess around, it is just not my nature and anyone in CoS can confirm that : ) I hope I didn't make too many mistakes in text above if I did I am sorry.

Typhon is actually handling like 40% of the declares down below. Typhon, as an alliance and political entity, is basically who you call in to suppress beaten down 0-10 city nations, and for that, they'll always be relevant. The bigger criticism is, why Typhon? Other alliances can force build nations up to 15 cities within the span of a week, while Typhon just sits at the 0-10 range indefinitely. Typhon definitely provides a service to the community as a dedicated lower-tier suppression alliance, but it is not necessarily good for its members.

Why don't you just have each alliance conduct its own awards? It's not like any of these awards are impartial or anything.

Which issue? Our objections have been almost entirely about the legitimacy and transparency of the official PW awards. Our proposed solution has, consistently, been to move the awards back to the politicsandwar.com domain. Keegoz, intentionally or not, deflected by changing the subject to the "objectivity" of the awards. However, unless he's equating opacity or unaccountability (see: Kastor's refusal to entertain any criticism) with objectivity, I fail to see how moving the awards offsite addresses that "problem". I put "problem" in quotation marks because it's not clear to me that the awards can (or even should be) "objective" in the first place. Objectivity, as the term has been used here this year and last year, rests on the notion that most players aren't qualified to have a say in who receives the various awards. Because I don't think anything other than direct, popular voting for the awards will be legitimate or transparent, I don't think this qualm is even worth trying to address: no mechanism besides direct democracy will satisfy the need to be transparent and legitimate. Keegoz would have a point if the mechanism for determining the winners of the awards was different this year - say, a committee of prominent players, which has been proposed multiple times this year and last year. However, the mechanism for this year's awards is still direct democracy, which brings me back to my original characterization of Keegoz's post. He changes the subject and implies that offsite hosting somehow makes the awards "objective", but doesn't offer any explanation as to how. He also ignores the fact that the awards were conducted on the forums last year, which is why we were silent last year - this year's problems didn't exist last year. If I'm reading this correctly, what I said in response to Buorhann also applies here.

Typhoon existed for nearly 2 years and very briefly cracked the Top 30 a few times. Has 121 members in with several other Applicants. Cannot recall if it ever participated in a major war. All it does is prey on inactive/micro tier areas of the game. Its protected by Pantheon and TUE (lol wtf). Its pretty much the trashcan alliance of nations who join the game then don’t do anything, most likely because theirs no ambition in it. Its a terrible alliance for wasting a lot of potential it could have.

Yeah, now we have Inst running the votes. Real upgrade here guys. It always amuses me how childish people get over these awards which mean literally nothing atm. If they had actual meaning, then as discussed we would have a far better method of doing it and people voting with legitimate reasons behind them. I suspect however most of you don't care and just want to be able to get people to spam a result, so you win the award because apparently you're that desperate for recognition. Too bad it changes literally no ones mind about. The only reason I like it is that I get to reflect on a year in the nomination thread, and actually weigh up myself who had a successful/unsuccessful year. To see how much the game has changed etc. Maybe if you guys stopped acting like you were prom queens trying to justify your inflated self-worth with a cheap vote we'd actually get a better kick out of this as a community. Two months though? Yes, the holiday season is indeed busy depending on job and family, but it's a rather broad interpretation to consider it to begin in October. Either way, the holiday season has at this point been over for about a week by any rational metric. People should be heading off VM in about one week, if their VM was in fact due to that.

I know this may came as a shock to some of you no life basement dwellers but some people do actually have a life outside of this silly game and when that life happens to take more time and they need to do the things that life requires and they let us know we have no issues with them going into VM if they need to.

So a few things I want to mention before I lock this thread. Alex isn't available for comment as he is travelling so I will handle the situation to the best of my ability. You are welcome to PM him if you feel I handled the situation incorrectly. First of all, I strongly doubt there has been a situation where someone was warned for reporting nazi, terrorist, and/or inappropriate content; Typically, the only ones warned are those who are engaging in the act themselves. If there has been a situation like this please let myself or Alex know. The game has also always disallowed this content, so I don't know where you're getting the idea that we are "encouraging" this behavior as we very clearly are not. Second, we cannot moderate things done off-site and off the official forums and discord for multiple reasons; The biggest being that we have no power over what other sites, discords and forums do. The other thing is that there is often no way to prove a person on another site, forum or discord is the same as someone in-game or on the official forums or discord; I myself have made this mistake before and wrongfully banned people (Who are now unbanned) based off of faulty information, so I know first-hand why people shouldn't be banned based off of something that has been done off the game, the official forums and/or discord. Third, as far as the actual report goes, his name could be referring to a territory after WWI but it could also be referring to the group known as "The Sudeten Nazis" so it will be changed, his portrait is clearly showing a known nazi so it will also be changed. For now, he will be warned, I checked his moderation history and he has no prior warns for this so he will not be banned; If he continues this behavior though, which is stated in the game rules to not be allowed, he will be banned. EDIT: The name change was appealed as it was explained but the warn for the portrait remains. They changed to a new portrait which was checked and approved by me as well.

We do not have authority over discord or other off-site forums, the PnW Admin team have no say to any other website that isnt the official forums, the PnW official discord server and official in-game website. We do not allow Nazism on the official websites, and disciplinary actions are taken to handle them when found on PnW's official websites. I dont understand what makes you think we have control over discord servers and off-site forums Alex does not own. If you have an issue with a discord server, your best bet is to contact the owner of that discord server or contacting Discord Customer Service. If you see nazi references on the forums, report it. If you find it in-game, report it. Alex has stated he is in favor of lax rules on speech, however direct Nazism references are forbidden on the forums and in-game. We cant stop nazis from using their own websites to post their ideals. Alex does not, nor any other admin and/or forum moderators, have any say on websites Alex does not own. The only thing you can do is contact the offsite website owner and maybe contacting the services that provide their forums for them. ... with that in mind, only @Clemson has matched the criteria to post in this report, everyone else, please refrain from commenting or warn points may be issued, thanks!

So basically look at city improvements once you hit the 1k Infrastructure mark?

For a Military build - I'd go with Units cost 10% less, Upkeep -25%, Recruit 25% more per day on the Military Perks. 5% Combat Value, 1 extra MAP per War on the War Perks. Build a New City/Project every 9 days, 1 Free Improvement Slot per City in the Development Perks. And the 8th perk could float around. My line of thinking is that unless you're a 24/7 raider on farms/inactives, then the extra Offensive War slot would be near worthless. The 20% extra loot will also be very limited, considering you could potentially just not get anything at all ( Or very little to make any use of the increased percentage ). The extra Spy per day I'd assume will be for higher scoring tier nations. Not a terrible perk, but not one I'd go "OMG MUST HAVE".

Ah, yeah, I mis-read it. So you'll start with 7 MAP instead of the 6, no matter what. Still pretty powerful. I'd prefer the +1 Offensive Slot to be a -1 Defensive Slot - would make it much more worthwhile, but it does need to be a more difficult perk to reach.

Why not tie the perks into the policies of the game? If your policy is this - you unlock these perks. Which will then give us a list of perks that we can choose from on each policy. The policies themselves can have some sort of additional small buff/penalty as well.

After reading some of the earlier comments from Buorhann and others, I think a panel of voters made up of prominent alliance leaders/gov members would be nice. I don't mind it being implemented for the current Awards if Kastor approves. Take both the vote of the panel and popular vote for the masses into account when choosing the winner.
