  6. I made a bunch of smol, minimalist circles to represent alliances. I started working on these over 6 months ago (@Radoje posted a version of the top 40 alliances a while back) but since the year is ending I got motivation to re-do a version of the current top 40, as well as a bunch of other ones. Anyway, here's the current top 40. War flags were used where applicable and holiday flags were avoided with the exception of Arrgh. I tried to avoid meme flags but for Acadia I'm not sure if the noodley boi is a legitimate flag or not but I put it in anyway. Thanks to Rado for fixing the TKR one and to a bunch of TGH people for helping fix the Rose circle. Here's everything else I've done in an imgur album, including the non-war versions of war flags (ex. NPO, Guardian), alternate flags (ex. Acadia), old versions (ex. KT), and dead or rebranded alliances (ex. Roz Wei, AIM). They're all 100x100 px. Feel free to use these wherever you'd like, but please don't take credit for them. Also, obligatory happy new years~ hope y'all had lots of fun. apologies for butchering durm's flag but i didn't know how to represent it : ( please forgive

  10. What about a nuclear meltdown more likely if the nuclear power plant is older? Like first 6 months after making the nuclear power plant 0% chance of nuclear meltdown 6 to 12 months 1% chance 12 to 18 months 2% chance etc. So you can spend money to destroy and rebuild your power plant every 6 months or accept the chance to have a nuclear meltdown Nuclear meltdown = same effect of a nuke, city not destroyed

  16. Kev. One must understand, that to use that logic, the original protectorate must have a gov capable of thinking. If they cant think, they cant use that logic. Reminds me of the Cant stop me cause I cant read meme.

  20. You Idiots raided Tesla so as far as I'm concerned you're a legit target. We'll make sure that your nations aren't burdened by any excessive Infra like Goro in t$ was. Also, since I found this on your nation page: Being leader in a whole bunch of Pleb alliances isn't "Good gov experience".

  21. I honestly now feel sorry for you Kosmo. You clearly do not know anything about me, and at this point you are like the guy who yells fire in a crowded theater when all is well. Your relentless threats are truly pathetic at this point. These baseless claims only expose your blatant bigotry . If you had only ever bothered to communicate with me directly I may have been able to put your fears to rest. I am actually quite friendly with my local Laotian and Indonesian community, having worked with them for years we are akin to an extended family, hardly the kind of thing the person in which you think me to be would do. Again I feel sorry for you, as I can not imagine what it is like to be so full of hate.

  25. That is disgusting. Typhon is going to have to pay for their lax treatment of their members. The taxes should be 100%, and paying people to get nuked is weak shit. You got to put bounties on those you dislike, attrition, nuclear, and a missile bounty (there are missile bounties right?), and then hire Arrgh once the bounties have been claimed... that's the level one. When a new member joins, they should burn them to the ground, and inform the player that if they leave... well they're going to get raided until they delete their nation. "Anti-Semitic, racist 16 year old", that is quite disgusting. It has to be a "Anti-Semitic, racist, sexist, rapist, sixty-year old pedophile" or some shit. Obviously Typhon isn't trying hard enough. "They even have a guy that photoshops in game messages and discord messages", do they realize that they can just use html for the in game messages? No need to Photoshop... Aight, that's all I got to say. I am quite disappointed in Typhon, and that this wasn't a DOW, or a Civil War.

  27. Hey everyone, this is going to be a long post, so bear with me here. First, a couple of housekeeping announcements: @Nite Owl has recently resigned as a forum moderator. I am very grateful for their help, without the forum moderators I certainly wouldn't be able to keep things civil here by myself. Next, I'd like to introduce a new forum moderator, @Chief Wiggum, who has signed up to help pick up the additional workload. I have high hopes that they will make a fair and unbiased forum moderator. Onto the meat of the announcement! --- Geography Update - Implemented! This announcement was foreshadowed by this previous post in which I announced the geography update and how it was going to change things. There were a few bugs and hiccups during testing, but I am confident that it is ready to be released into production. If you read the previous announcement post, you're probably up to speed on the changes, with a few caveats: Maps are being displayed using OpenLayers instead of Google Maps. You can read a bit more about that here, but the main reason is that Google Maps has outrageously high prices for using their service, and due to the high number of loads (every map load would have costed $0.0056) it was completely unaffordable for produdction. OpenLayers does not really remove any functionality, it's just a little different. One thing I forgot to mention in the previous post is that I eliminated Alliance HQs. They never did anything, any it was unnecessary complexity; Alliances are no longer pegged to any specific continent. No one noticed/asked me about it during the past few weeks of the Test Server tournament, so I don't think this is really a significant change. Everyone has receiving 2 additional free location changes. New nations start with 3 free changes. This was announced last time too, but I just wanted to re-iterate it. Changing your nation map without changing Continent does not cost a location change. This change was made during test server testing, and means that you won't use a location change every time you adjust your nation's borders (for example, because of an increase in land area that you wish to reflect on your nation map.) Screenshots I have seen some fun nation map designs during test server testing, I've included some here to highlight the change. Video Here's a video I released with the previous announcement as well. Things have been updated a bit since then, but it does showcase things pretty well. More Details If you did not get a chance to read the previous announcement with all of the details, I've included it here for you.

  43. I like this idea, but I think there should be a cap at how much the infra price can be reduced. 1% for 500 miles might seem fine, but what if someone were to get 50,000 land? Would infra cost nothing? Would it go into negatives and create an exploitable glitch in where you make free money? It’s a good idea but needs restrictions.

  44. I requested that 25 mil be sent back because I know he would be too stubborn to give all of it back, but he rejected my offer. Now, I am trying to get majority of the money back for Argos. The only thing I personally want is the pride knowing I beat him.

  45. Just as the title says, If you buy more land your cities are less cramped and therefore infrastructure is less stressed. For example, for every 500 square miles bought the infrastructure costs reduces by 1%.

  46. I’ve seen this idea floated about different threads so I’ve decided to put it into one single post to talk about them (sorry in advance for terrible layout). Natural Disasters. I am against complete destruction of cities, because as others have said, nations with a large amount of cities have to pay a big premium to rebuild them again. As a compromise for this I suggest that Natural Disasters only destroy a certain amount of infrastructure/improvements, depending on what the natural Disaster is. Now, before everyone gets mad at me because they thought this would be “something like nuclear meltdowns that can’t be prevented”, I propose a solution to this problem. Preventability I propose that we introduce new improvements specifically designed to defend against these disasters, and even update improvements already in game to help as well. What I mean by this is (names for improvements are up for change, just a rough draft atm): Tsunami; preventable by ‘Sea Walls’, which safeguard a certain amount of infrastructure per improvement (say, one sea wall protects 500 infra against tsunamis), or ‘Sea Alert Systems’ (which provide and early warning for tsunamis that not only advises the player that one is incoming but also allows for less population loss because the population is “evacuated”) Meteor Strike; preventable by ‘Space Beam’ (a bit futuristic but raptors was once a suggested idea, which breaks apart the meteor into smaller amounts, and this smaller amount of meteor damages less infrastructure [basically the same premise as ‘Sea Walls’ but for Meteors]), and Subways (already existing, but can allow for less population loss against meteors), and ‘Space Radars’ (which gives early warning for the player and population) Bushfire/fire; destroys a certain amount of infrastructure per turn (but has a maximum for balance), preventable by Fire Stations (one fire station takes, say, four turns to fully stop a fire (and you’d have four turns of fire damage), however more Fire Stations = less damage. Fire Watch Towers, which can provide an early warning against bushfires. I also suggest some good nations events, which balance out the bad ones; Sales (Boxing Day, EoFY etc [either by random chance or IRL sales]); for one turn, commerce is increased by 100% (turn and percentage can change, this is why we have a test server). Nation Birthday; bit of an out of roleplay idea but I suggest when your nation turns one year older (either by game time or RL time) get some money or a boost to something (just a throwaway idea, not too serious on this one). Major ore vein found; affects all the natural resource mines in ONE city (bauxite, lead etc., excluding farms), and boosts their production for one or more turns. These are just some of the ideas I had. I haven’t done proper chance numbers in case my idea is well-liked by the community, but it is currently just a rough draft. Feel free to critique or add your own ideas.
