  2. There was a group of outcasts, frequently written off but never willing to give up. Forced into the shadows they planned their next move. After months of planning and preparation they were ready to step out on their own. This is the result of their work… This is The Underground. We welcome everyone to come and join us in celebrating our new venture. So please drop by our discord to say hello. We greatly appreciate Bad Company’s help and support thus far, and going forward and for giving us the opportunity to be the first to take on a venture protection agreement GOVERNMENT: The Shadow: RightHonorable Ghost of Internal Affairs: LeftBehind Ghost of Foreign Affairs: Alex Smith Ghost of Economics: Admiral Trench Ghost of Defense (acting): RightHonorable Link to Charter (https://docs.google.com/document/d/17r6jUQm1EvzSuH22lKKXF1rryjFzPk2zuLSc1n6FK08/edit?usp=drivesdk) Link to Discord (https://discord.gg/m7zzx9m) Link to Venture Protectorate Agreement (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1AcQgSsb2Cm54x3Z8VNXlvBldjaggiSk8qXsxWN0qDg8/edit?usp=drivesdk)

  3. Dad? But never fear, while it is easy to criticize from such a low position, I still have this war's real theme to go back to when the beach closes for the night.

  5. People of Orbis, Many times throughout our day we hear complaints of micros. They are everywhere, popping up across the planet, bringing down color spheres and dragging down potential valued members that could otherwise learn and contribute in a worthwhile alliance. We offer the community a solution, the Venture Protection Agreement (VPA). The First Venture Protection Agreement Preamble The Underground and Bad Company henceforth agree to the following treaty that gives The Underground protection, a growth target and the promise of having a home. Bad Company receives the promise of a growing ally or future members. This treaty is meant to serve as a benefit to both parties. The community on Orbis will also benefit by limiting the number of stagnant alliances and promoting growth. Article I - Protection and Guidance Bad Company agrees to protect The Underground from raids, war, and negative publicity. A declaration of war on The Underground is also viewed as a declaration of war on Bad Company. Bad Company will also provide guidance to The Underground in the multiple facets of running an alliance. Article II - Venture The Underground will attempt to grow their alliance in a 90 day period. If after 60 days The Underground does not experience at least 20% in Nation Score growth, they are obligated to merge into Bad Company. If The Underground maintains the same or suffers a loss of Nation Score and/or Members after 30 days, they are obligated to merge into Bad Company. Bad Company may provide an extension on the deadline for The Underground to hit their objectives. Article III - War Time The Underground has the option of joining in on a defensive or offensive war alongside Bad Company. If The Underground so chooses to actively participate in the war, the Article II clause will be put on pause for the length that The Underground is actively at war. The length of the duration of The Underground’s war will be added to the deadline outlined in Article II so as to give them time to recover from war losses. Article IV - Limits on Sovereignty For the duration of the agreement, The Underground agrees to not sign treaties other than Non-Aggression Pacts without prior authorization from Bad Company. Furthermore, The Underground agrees to not take offensive military action without authorization from Bad Company, except for countering raids, in such cases, Bad Company shall be notified as soon as it is practical to do so. Article V - Cancellation The Underground and Bad Company hold the right to cancel this Venture Protection Agreement. A notice from one alliance’s leadership is required to recognize a treaty cancellation. After a 24 hour notice of cancellation, this treaty shall be considered null and void. Bad Company holds the right to upgrade this treaty to an ODP. Bad Company must notify the government of The Underground upon the decision to upgrade the treaty. If Bad Company so chooses to upgrade this VPA into an ODP, it shall take effect immediately.

  9. When Pre came to me and asked: "Hey, would you like to do even more thankless work and become the one who has the deal with each and every dumpster fire that comes TEst's way, thereby taking full responsibility for everything that goes wrong with the alliance?", my immediate response was: "Oh boy, would I!!. Don't worry though. Even though Pre no longer has any gov role, he's offered to make OWF announcements, which is good coz I suck at it. Pre will keep his leadership duties till the end of the current war, peace talks included. However, after that he'll become a grunt like he wanted. Pre has managed to accomplish his goal which made him return to this game we all still play for some reason. We thank him for his services and his toes. As for the new gov structure, Mayor is now Primarch. Please join me in congratulating him for losing the freedom that comes with being a regular member, to do stuff he probably won't enjoy most of the time. Bambino will retain his current duties and Odin will remain that guy we force to do econ, which as we all know is a lot of fun. Sorry to have distracted you from all the carnage and the smell of burning pixels. Blood for the Blood God Skulls for the Skull Throne Khorne for the Khorne Flakes

  16. "Despite my firm convictions, I have always been a man who tries to face facts and to accept the reality of life as new experience and new knowledge unfolds. I have always kept an open mind, a flexibility that must go hand in hand with every form of the intelligent search for truth." It was time to stop. And focus on ourselves, so, we did.

  20. Lol no. Also no thanks. Compulsory beiges is stupid and counterproductive for any side and lessens tactics to the point where any side with the bigger military units is just going to end up begging opponents and a constant cyclical nonsense of cookie cutter tactics. Also I've seen this thrown out a lot, but no one's abusing the game or exploiting mechanics. I didn't know valid military strategies are considered "abusing" the game now. Lmao.

  22. Mixed feelings on this. I like the fact that the 5 day period ends up being a defacto beige towards the end if someone just doesn't want to beige the other person but sits on MAPS. It adds more strategy and tactics, which I think is generally good. But I can also see how that is boring and a weird incentive. Maybe one way to approach this isn't to reduce resistance damage but to make successful attacks restore resistance to the attacking nation, to the tune of 50% of the normal resistance destroyed. So if people are actually slogging it out, the war will go longer, but if it's completely one-sided it will end quicker. I also like the idea of the nation with the higher resistance winning if the war expires. In any case, I'd encourage people to look at this outside of the current war. I'm pretty sure Alex would wait till there was no war going on to implement a major war change.

  24. Yeah, no, this is not what a vassal is. Like at all. It's a protectorate agreement that tries to seem special by being a bit different, but honestly its attempt at being different isn't that impressive.

  25. Though it won't hide the other side (just puts it at the bottom), you can already do this to some extent. Click "Coalition" then shift + click twice on "Net Damage" (or whatever) will sort first by coalition and then by net damage descending. If you wanted to get coalition 2 at the top you'd need to click coalition twice before shift clicking on whatever secondary column you want to sort on.

  28. What? No no no no NO no noNO no. No. What possible thing do you imagine that will solve? Sure, if you want to think purely conventionally then it would make certain wars last longer, but more critically to my view is that it would mean that ordinary and attrition wars cannot be won by unconventional weapons. This would make the victor of a dogpile merely need to declare ordinary wars, and then they can pin their opponents even worse then they already can! 5 day blockades with the opponent being able to do very little is bad enough, but to remove what few options they have to force a beige in the other direction? And to increase the amount of airstrikes they can potentially be hit by before the pin finally has to weigh the options of one last airstrike but causing a beige in the process? JUST NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO For the love of everything, just rework the beige/loot/defeat/victory condition from being first-to-zero to being first-to-zero OR lowest-resistance-at-expiration. And for goodness' sake keep it at 5 days so both nukes and missiles can still potentially force a beige themselves. This will solve the problem of 5 day blockade pins with airstrikes keeping the underdogs down, without compounding it a hundredfold. Bear in mind which alliances are suggesting and endorsing this change, also. I'm not saying it's politically or selfishly motivated necessarily, but the suggestion is mostly being encouraged by one particular side in the current conflict.

  29. Personally, I do not see "micros" as a problem, as long as the rules are followed. And, if you really want them to improve, you have to give them the means to integrate into the community. A "micro" post may give the chance to a new promising alliance to find a new protector/mentor that was going through the forum posts. Besides, being less "professional" is not a crime. If you think that a thread is spam or inappropriate or too generic (like a post saying "Hello guys! I am looking for friends") you can always report it and the moderator team will handle it.

  30. Recently in the war, the sphere once known as Radiantsphere, lead by the Knights Radiant, has changed. They have reformed into the new, Nerdsphere, lead by the Nerds Radiant. In response to this, the coalition has also reformed, into the Chad Coalition, lead by Terminus Chad. Now, i understand this change is sudden, and many of you may be confused as to what the new sides really are. I, Akuryo, have made this handy diagram to inform you.

  36. I dont see micro posting as a moderation issue or a valid reason to force them to post in a subforums nobody would actually check. There is variables and we would need to create a universal accepted definition of a micro, and people view irrelevanancy and micro(unless it's like one new player by themselves, then yeah I can see them easily as a micro, nearly non existent alliance) differently. If you want, you are free to "police" them in-game by declaring war and attempt to enforce a no speak term in the peace negotiations.

  37. Hmm yeah I see why you'll want Pre to make announcements still... Nah! Best of luck INH. I think the ideal is the old guard getting the Hell out of the way, so I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with Test. Try to do as good a job for your members as UPN did for you. Uhhh just try to do a good job.
