  1. Well, that depends really. On Taco Tuesdays it's good fun, the cafeteria food is great, everyone has a laugh, y'all know how it is. Then the rest of the week when you're forced to forge more steel for NPO's stockpiles or hunted by BK in the arena to determine the best candidates for mergers, it isn't as much fun. Really does build character though, or so I'm told. But hey, I've gotten distracted. Congrats on becoming even more bloated and functionally irrelevant GoB. All this time they told us GPA was dead, but really it's been here all along...

  5. I'm pretty sure their goal is precisely to get as far away as possible from the rest of the game in terms of city count, so they can save pixels in risky situations like world wars. Good thing they're buddies with TKR and Guardian, otherwise they'd be labeled as "an upper tier threat".

  6. Let's hear about it. There's a lot of economics to Politics & War, with most of it player driven. Who's seen the best profits yet, and from where? There are really only 3 main routes: Commerce Building supermarkets, banks, etc. will increase your tax revenue. With a high enough population, this is a very effective way to make money and you can simply import resources from other nations with your excess cash. For a small nation, it is not usually the most effective way of making money. Resources It takes some capital to invest with, but once you've got the improvements to harvest resources you can export them to other nations to make money. The prices fluctuate considerably, though, which makes this method a little more risky, but with the potential for more reward as well. War Every nation should keep a strong, healthy military on hand to protect their economies, yet there are always some who wish to cut upkeep costs to increase profits. Raising a large army and plundering other nations can really bring in a lot of money quickly, but there's the potential for disastrous results. Accidentally picking targets with no money to loot or finding someone who can fight back is common. This is the riskiest money making technique, but can potentially be the most rewarding. So, Politics & War players, I want to know what methods you've tried, and what your success/failure stories have been for the first ~25 days of the game!

  7. Egyptian Empire DoE As Orbis twists and turns, sometimes the best way to plan for the future is to look to the lessons of the past. We prefer to take our lessons from the Pharaoh's of Ancient Egypt, ruling over a vast kingdom stretching across the harshest environment on Earth, from the Mediterranean to the head of the Sahara desert. The society was the most advanced of its time, with a world-class irrigation system, healthcare system, well-tooled army and lots of gardens for the nobles to relax with their harem. All were looked after, obviously aside from the slaves. The government of this Egyptian Empire will strive to govern with dignity, and to provide a home for nations looking to grow, in an individualised way, under a government that genuinely cares. Side note: we've been informed another alliance was Egyptian-themed: Duat. We're not Duat. To prove it, here's our CHARTER. Protected by Vanguard Bloc and Acadia Join our Discord Check us out in-game

  9. Time and time again, any time this alliance has been referenced - someone has to step in and try to "correct" it. I think it's about time for our community to make a final decision on this before we tear ourselves apart in fighting about it. So have it at it. Democracy rules here.

  15. Imperial Calondia leaves Politeia of Rose to reunite ancient empire Emperor-banker Mayor of the prosperous Politeia of Rose had called for national vote of whether to leave the Politeia of Rose to forge new imperial destiny or remain in Rose for foreseeable future last week. Emperor Mayor was banker of the great Rose alliance and had floated the idea of running for Rose leadership. However once previous Rose sovereign Dynamic decided to seek re-election the great leader Mayor decided to have a referendum on continued membership. The results are in and the eternal empire of Calondia will seek to reestablish ties with old imperial colonies of the ancient empire. This news has pleased militarists in the empire but some are worried that the economic gains from being in the Politeia of Rose will be lost due to excessive military excursions. Our great emperor has calmed these fears by joining a new militarist alliance for active defense. While the transition is completed the empire has called for a national draft to take place to replenish dwindling military forces. Resources are being collected for a great new war-chest to fund the rebuilding effort. A new era of change will be coming to Orbis, a new era of Calondian supremacy! Protesters both supporting the new militarist direction and those opposing it clash outside the capital palace. Many are worried this new development will see mass destruction and depopulation. Many times has Calondia reawakened seeking old imperial glory, many times has Calondia conquered other nations, many times has Calondia thwarted enemy invasions, and many times has Calondia had foreign occupiers on our holy land. Some are worried about government and military overreach but many others dream of a new reunited great Calondian Empire of old. Where old colonies like Mogar are reconquered and imperial authority reestablished. For the moment expectations are high, morale is towering, and the military is ready. Time will tell if this optimism is worth it.

  23. To expand on The B0SS tip, try to get into a place that you like. Don't go in for personal gain, just talk to the people in there on their discord and see if you like that group. Go somewhere where you think you'll fit in a have a good time, and the rest will come by itself. If you're not happy with your choice, you can always go somewhere else that you feel you'd fit in better. Like The B0SS pointed out, all the alliances will do their best to help you learn the game and grow
