  5. From my perspective, beige is necessary. Beige is intended as a stop-loss mechanic. Military buying limits (population caps, daily caps, improvement caps) necessitate a beige mechanic that gives the beaten nation a break to rebuild. Otherwise you're creating a system that overtly punishes losing the first round of fighting. So the core issue isn't necessarily that people are REWARDED by being beiged, it's that it's NECESSARY under the current war system to have a remotely fair chance of things. Adding additional penalties to a stop-loss mechanic doesn't make sense, it worsens the problem the nation already has (that it's losing a war.) So my vote, if beige is such an issue, is echoing Sweet Ronny D - lessen the time each beige gives. But we also need to take a hard look at the military buying limits. If we make it easier to fight wars on even terms, we may not even need a stop-loss mechanic.

  7. Dummy? I've not mentioned anything about AIM this whole thread. I've not even mentioned loot in this thread. Don't quote me and then make up what I'm talking about while trying to claim I don't know what's going on. And yes, I'm clearly desperate for this war to end, lol. "We'll happily fight you for as long as you want"; Clearly reeks of desperate begging right there. Look, I now know you're from the Steve reality where up is down, and down is the quadratic equation, but you really have no do clue what you're talking about. You seem to thing what you do matters to us. It doesn't. You wanna nuke more? Great, go for it. You wanna move on and rebuild? Great, go for it. If you weren't so tilted, perhaps you'd see that.

  9. While thoughtful, it’s still based on chance. I’ve done that tactic several times when they brought in war policies. The only time it’s REALLY effective, is if the opponent is on Pirate. Then you’re definitely wrecking Improvements.

  11. Personally I'm looking forward to seeing our nations use Tactician and grind away any improvements you have with 1 ship. It'd be a beautiful sight to see nations completely devoid of infrastructure, resources, warchests, and improvements.

  12. This just made me think of another idea: Instead of being beiged destroying a certain percentage of a nation's infrastructure, it destroys a certain percentage of a nation's improvements. Right now improvement destruction is pretty weak and ineffective because attacks don't destroy many improvements. And improvement destruction tends to have a lot more of an impact on a nation's ability to fight in the short to mid term than it does on their mid and long term economy, compared to infra destruction which has a limited impact on someone's short and mid term ability to fight but has a big impact on mid to long term economy.

  13. A simple guide to relatively decent memes that make fun of your war opponent Step 1 Do not use 9gag or ifunnyco as reference. Step 2 Add one scoop of creativeness, one scoop of low PS skills, two scoops of funny, one pinch of edgy Step 3 Your end goal is to make people laugh. Or at least blow some extra air from their nostrils. Keep it simple, keep it agenda-free. Step 4 With some effort, and several minutes later, congrats - you got yourself a meme! Yay, you did it! Example: @Buorhann❤️

  15. As the talks about what's wrong with the RP was also a thing on the Discord Server, with these being the latest examples and largest examples of cooperative talks Now no matter if you read it or not, we have not been able to do anything, we have not accomplished anything as a community. We know there is an issue about something and want to change it but nothing has been done. I can say that lack of Interraction is a major factor to the downfall of RPs here, which Mogar pointed out, and i appreciate efforts of some people like Maelstorm which wanted to get some interaction on going (mentioned in the screenshots). I will stay by my word that all reasons mentioned lead to the begging reasons I mentioned, now this is just my personal view of it, but I notice that many so to say 'bad roleplayers' basically pull a neverending VM on their RPing nation, a VM where you are free to do whatever you want, and they usually do not make any interactions with other nations. No interaction just means that the nations sticks up into an isolationist RPing utopia. And also on the matter of dickwaving, I mentioned it also many times, nobody wants to play the underdog, I'd tip my hat to Spectre which played as a 3rd world nation in NatRP while the rest just have utopias with supposedly invincible armies which are useless as they hide behind rules. And there are many concepts of players hiding behind rules, taking up space for isolationist threads and posts which usually have no effect on a nation or any person outside the nation that rp's it. All of this has been said many times either directly or indirectly, we constantly repeat ourselves, some keep quiet, and constantly the rp has died. Well okay, the rp died, but we should learn from our mistakes, revive it and do it better this time, but every time the rp has died and made anew, everything is repeated by a scheme. Like now I ask the whole RP community, those which follow from the shadows, participate directly or an another category, what the foq are you actually doing. If you do not like the RP dying, do something! Be determinent, if you just don't care about the rp how it is we can delete the section and all of us could go our merry way, and if you would like your isolationist posts then go to google, find a google docs and write all you want, maybe publish if it is finished one day or people desire to read it. But this is not a book club where we write them. It is a place where we should make our mind relax and act like someone. Think of the community, it is a national roleplay, well you can make up your own nation but nations have diplomatic relations, some bad some good. There are daily deaths in nations in our world, news headlines you could literally make a rp daily if you had the imagination and all nations here are basically good on their own at the height of their power and they never collapse apparently. Utopias, no interaction and more is just so interesting. Describing your nation, how it looks like, the people, art, culture, food, shows, anything your heart desires. Share your ideas to the world, share your imagination. There is something you can RP, just think for some time, don't write the first thing that comes to your mind, sit and think, enjoy the momment of silence in which you just think and set the foundation for your nation and it's ways. Do not just follow the same path to point x from which you always come out angry, or injured or whatever. Now why does nobody push for a better community for all to enjoy? Where we can have all fun times, we will laugh back sometime in the future, to remind ourselves, make history, make future, use ideas, be a loser, rise up from the loss and become triumphant. Learn from the mistakes, do not follow the mistakes you have done the last time, and the time before that and god knows how long that goes back. Do you want to do something in which we all will enjoy for a long time, where a lot of factors matter which you made up from your own ideas, your own brain, with some help from movies, games, music or anything, it's your own to choose, and then people replying to your posts, then a large event evolves and all have a good time, or do you just enjoy posting once a month to stay on the map, posts which are just like 'yeah that happened' and get nothing, just views, no interaction at all.

  21. Freemasons and Illuminati are basically the same thing, just like Republicans and Nazis. Of course the latter unlike the former does actually have women in it, somebody has to wear those uniforms in suggestive poses for the internet. I suppose you could use a trans model for that, but i'm not sure the Nazis would find the irony as amusing as everyone else.

  30. How about an economic modifier that boosts income based on infra destroyed and infra lost? For example: War modifier for each war = (infra destroyed + infra lost) / (nation infra at the end of the war) / (turns since war ended / 720). Limit to 1.25 or a 25% boost. Total modifier = 1 + Sum of modifiers to all wars. Max 1.25, or 25%. 720 turns is 60 days. It could be based on attacks but that'd probably be harder to code and take more server power. Making it based on infra destroyed and infra lost would provide a boost to both winners and losers. And since it takes actually destroying infra, it'd limit the extent that it could be abused with dummy wars.

  36. 12,442 lead * $3,594 avg PPU = $44,716,549 in lead alone. We never went into this war with the primary intention of looting. We fight to burn pixels, to spill blood. Ours and our enemies, Khorne cares not. With that being said, $44.7M (not including other resources nor looted cash), definitely helps with the rebuild. Khorne got his blood and some of us are still getting some loot to pay for the damages. Is a pretty good deal for us imo. Anyways, I love war so looking forward to Round 2, 3, 4 etc...

  39. What you're suggesting is a whole-cloth redesign of the entire game, and to a degree of complexity that requires unreasonable levels of precision and constant adjustments from the development team (one guy). Paradox Interactive, for example, has a huge team of professionals working full-time jobs in order to (amongst other things) consistently push balance patches to Europa Universalis and Hearts of Iron, and they're still constantly adjusting variables to ensure that the balance is working as intended. Riot games does similar things with League of Legends, literally paying people full time salaries to maintain their otherwise remarkably self-balancing game. (I'd embed a youtube link here explaining how League of Legends' cyclical balancing system is a masterwork of innovative game design, and probably should since it's exactly what you are saying you want, but I'd rather not break up my post with a video frame. Just look up Extra Credits' video about "perfect imbalance".) Only both of those are running major studios with valuable IP and can throw around millions of dollars to do this; this game is one dude's college side project while he works on his economics degree. Now, sure, it'd be amazing if we could expect Alex to be able to give us what we want with the quality, precision, and consistency of a world-class game studio, but that's millions of dollars out of his own pocket without any reason to believe that he'd get that investment back. We have to make do with hard limits to enforce what balance is available to us, and Alex has to maintain and enforce those limits against egregious exploitation. The fact is, Politics and War is actually a really well balanced game considering the constraints and lack of experience of the developer, and while it could definitely be better (fortify 10 resistance 4 action points was PERFECT damnit) it is apparently still pretty good. Meanwhile, attempting to ham-fistedly implement 'soft' limits to allow anyone to attack anyone would absolutely cause the game to be rendered unplayable, because it would thus be not merely possible but fundamentally inevitable for competition to end entirely. Any attempt at war would result in an unstable equilibrium, wherein whoever got ahead even slightly would therefore have more resources with which to get further ahead, thus getting more resources to get further ahead ad infinitum. As long as that remains true, then merely putting a cost on the dominant side won't help no matter how large that cost is, since they are simply better able to pay it than the less dominant side... Who under your system would in fact be crippled due to their numbers concentrating their weariness penalties while spreading out the penalties across the side with more players in it. Then everyone but the most cancerous bloc quits, and then the cancerous bloc ends up quitting themselves until the game goes completely derelict and nobody plays it at all. I've seen this happen to literally dozens of games, usually at the request of people that don't understand how balance must work in perpetual games and are just frustrated that they can't 'win' a game that must never, ever be allowed to be definitively 'won'. Tl;dr: Your idea would be perfectly reasonable for a MOBA that's worth hundreds of millions of dollars, but it is an irresponsible suggestion to make for a perpetual nation-sim game developed and maintained by a single amateur developer.
