  1. Hello everyone , hope you are doing good :) I'm delighted to announce to you on behalf of Prof.Severus Snape that the alliance "Slytherin" is born.We are, which is the coolest and edgiest house in the Hogwarts. We play to win, because we care about the honour and traditions of Slytherin. We also get respect from our fellow alliances. Yes, some of that respect might be tinged with fear, because of our dark reputation but you know what? It can be fun, having a reputation for walking on the wild side. Check out a few hints that you've got access to, a whole alliance of curses, use them and see whether anyone feels like nicking your infra again. We are strict on allowing only those students who shows competence, activeness and a desire for greatness. Discord is a compulsory to be a part of our alliance GOVERNMENT: Headmaster : Prof.Severus Snape Deputy Headmaster: Aliyan Faculty/Staff: Care of Magical Creatures Prof : Tom Riddle Arithmancy Prof : Essence Clone Defense Against the Dark Arts : Keen the great Astronomy Prof : George Patton Teaching Staff: Dionyuis [FA] TREATIES: Protected by Ordo Paradoxia Alliance Link : https://politicsandwar.com/alliance/id=4889 Discord Link : https://discord.gg/f5czpan

  2. Straight out of a Rock N Roll Fantasy, good news that you Can't Get Enough of from the Simple Man Shifty, it's the Shifty News Network now in HIGH DEFINITION. Our top story tonight: Bad Company is Ready for Love and merging with Atlas. Unfortunately for Atlas, it forgot it's ABC's. Can this merger lead to relevancy for these 2 or is What You Hear What You Get?

  4. In order for a democratic alliance to be successful, the dedication and activity levels of each individual have to be similar, which they usually aren't. It either becomes a popularity contest which ultimately doesn't lead to more involvement, since the unpopular people will fade into the background or it's someone who is essentially volunteering to the do the actual work in the alliance and won't get contested in the election heavily. People like the idea having a say but making stuff happen is a lot more difficult/tedious. Administration isn't fun and there's no incentive for anyone to do the unfun stuff if they have to get approval all the time for anything. The demands of the less involved player are often ones that aren't realistic so often in a democratic alliance, you will have to convince people of rather obvious things. There's no real evidence when democracy has been tried in both direct and representative aspects that it increased overall involvement. PW requires far more fast paced decision-making than CN and democracy often hobbled major alliances that applied it there against autocratic ones, which is one of the main reasons most of the people who made alliances in PW early on went with autocratic government types. The members of democratic alliances usually weren't more involved on average due to the baseline Thalmor brought up. Eventually the allure of having a say fades away and the game ultimately can't be interesting 24/7 even with democracy and some people just don't want to put in the time to become informed, so it ends up falling into an oligarchy that agrees to let one of them be the leader for x amount of time. If anything it's far easier for an autocratic leader to make a big FA change since they didn't have to convince their members to sell prior treaties which is often the case in democratic alliances. Many democratic alliances actually hindered the ability of their leaders to alter FA paths. Anyone can be a good member in an autocratic alliance as long as they show up to fight in wars, whereas in a democratic alliance one can only be a good member if they make sure to inform themselves/put work in or just stay out of the way.

  5. We already had Paradoxia which turned into Terradoxia and then went into BoC which split into Order of Storms and dying BoC which then turned into Zodiac which then had a mass exodus post IQ war into AIM. Now we have a new Paradoxia... ?

  6. 1. First you are saying either use it or get rid of it 2. Second you are saying you don't care about what his approval rating is (Neither I care about your ratings) yet you want people to listen to you? 3. nothing to say here 4. You don't care about his opinion and suggestion and you are still asking "Anything else"? Better watch out before you say something 1. You don't care about lowest approval ratings? I don't care about highest approval rating! What are you even doing here?? This is a suggestion thread 2. That answer tells me you didn't read that this is a suggestion thread and you are pretty dumb and you should stop posting useless ideas 3. Yes add some salt as a gift from me to you;

  7. Through Sacrifice and Unity Comes Strength Ordo Paradoxia Declaration of Existence It was a few days after May full moon night on the 29th, that the famous Prophets, High Priests, Apostles and Acolytes from the sects of Defcon 1, Frostbite and Western Union were gathered in the Holy Temple to discuss about the past, the present and the future of Planet Orbis and their roles in it. Fαsting for 3 days and praying, the Ouroboros enlightened them and showed them the path for Strength, through Sacrifice and Unity. The existing sects have been sacrificed and unified and a new Order was born: Ordo Paradoxia. Our Acolytes march forth. The night grows long and the serpent grows hungry. The Ouroboros demands blood … We are outnumbered. The valor of our men stretched to the brink. The enemy? Merciless. Our allies expect defeat. Yet, the Ouroboros thrives from its own death. The cyclic Nature of the Universe: creation out of destruction, Life out of Death. We are fated for Victory! Some fight for warlords. We fight for a new age. Our might will inspire generations of warriors and strike fear in the hearts of our enemies. We are Ordo Paradoxia! With our fangs a manifestation of our ferocity and our scripture a realization of the Truth. Once the pride of a glorious dynasty, our legend is soon to be rewritten … It is time for you to fight for something greater than yourself… “Novus ordo seclorum!” (A new order of the ages) Prophets (Leaders) Cowboy Cynic Valkorion Baratheon High Priests (High Government) Alexandros o Megas (Foreign Affairs) Alrea (Internal Affairs) Cianuro (Economic Affairs) Simpleton (Military Affairs) Apostles (Lower Government) Amid Bin al Rasheed (Foreign Affairs) NightKnight (Internal Affairs) HiredGun & Night (Economic Affairs) Ayman & Impreza (Military Affairs)

  8. Exactly what it says in the title. The profit from manufactured resources are more heavily impacted by taxes than simple raws. Please give us the ability to set separate tax rates for each.

  11. Plain and simple. No need to enforced it for nations gone for a short while, but if you're gone for 2000+ turns you shouldn't have access to alliance affairs and orbis central.

  27. "Backrooming" is inherently exclusive and undemocratic. The whole point of backrooms in FA is to have only the essential leadership present and to avoid informing others until after a decision has been made. Alliance governments exist to be effective, not to maximize conflict, and especially not to maximize internal conflict, which is the kind democracies are are best at breeding as compared to autocracies. Yes, member engagement is important, but it is balanced against the need for self-preservation and operational effectiveness. The primary reasons for the slow-moving nature of inter-alliance politics are the need to see positive returns on infrastructure investments and the necessity of building large stockpiles of resources and money for waging war. This is wrong. Most rank-and-file members of alliances would be interested in additional control, but most are also not prepared to commit the time necessary to make effective and responsible use of that control. My alliance, for example, could tell its members to build their nations however they like in the hopes that some of them learn more about nation-building. We don't, though, because we already know what the optimal builds are. Any additional activity this spurred would be better spent on tasks that need doing rather than tasks that were done months or years ago. The material benefits of alliances are two-fold: alliances provide safety in numbers and they allow players to benefit from expertise beyond their own. "Competency" is measured at the alliance level, not the individual level. Giving every member of an alliance the same expertise and experience is a waste of time and resources that are better spent diversifying. Alliances don't exist to "benefit the world as a whole". They exist to benefit their memberships. Pivoting away from autocracy would put alliances at a competitive disadvantage against those that remained autocratic.

  36. Ya, if we follow the old line of CN-AA accusations, TKR was supposed to be MK and t$ was supposed to be MI6. Congrats Cynic on continuing the MI6 Orbisian infiltration operation. So many powerful PnW alliances are now controlled by former MI6. Our plan will soon come to fruition, and then we will summon your best friend, Chimaera, from the ashes of Planet Bob where he will rule in a paranoid psychosis ad infinitum .

  37. I do feel the approval rating stats has some potential, but it itself needs to be fixed before anything else can be thought of. As Sir Scarfalot said, the range is very wide and it's easy to lose it very easily. I originally had more than 100%, but went below zero within one war of our alliance being gang banged. Another gang banging later, I doubt if I ever will raise it above zero. The formula is flawed and it's very hard to regain approval. Also, it doesn't make sense to gain/lose approval as a result of war. In fact too many wars in a short time should result in a loss of approval. Think back to Bush and Afghan / Iraq wars. His approval rating had risen, if I am not mistaken, immediately after 9/11 and Afghan war declaration, but fell as the Iraq war dragged on. Conversely, if you are an oppressed nation fighting for your independence or something, then even if you loose, the country folks would still be behind their leader in hopes of eventual victory. So after a certain number of losses in a week/month, approval rating should not fall further. Someone may say here that the approval rating system is too minor for Alex's time, and alas, that is true as well.

  40. Rose and I think UPN has democratic elements too. Cornerstone did as well, but they disbanded a few months ago. To OP: Alliances in this game that have lots of democracy tends to be trash. Even the most successful 'democratic' alliances in this game tend to be garbage compared to other alliances. Alliances have to be fairly authoritarian to get shit done (unless they're smaller and more 'elite', like TEst or tC).

  41. Try running a democratic alliance. People need information to make informed decisions. It’s hard to have the level of secrecy you need on a lot of things while keeping your members informed enough to make proper decisions. Games like these here I find it important to find an alliance you like with a leader(s) you trust. Can’t find one? Make your own.

  42. This is why you have an average -4.7 reputation per post. Keep it up though, you'll eventually get to the level of @No neck casey Anyway, it is not easy to gain approval rating. It is in fact an extremely risky, difficult, and counterproductive endeavor, since the only real way to quickly increase approval rating is to win wars. And with the war system being what it is, winning wars is something that you very much want to avoid doing in many circumstances.

  43. I wish there was a "Indifferent" 'Like/Dislike', lol. I can't really support or go against this, I can see arguments for both sides. Instead of capping it, why don't you correlate the population growth to the amount of Land? (Basically capping the Pop Density instead of the Pop itself, if that makes sense?) If a city doesn't have enough land to expand the population, it doesn't grow anymore. Could also tweak the effect of Nukes to slow down or reset the return growth after a city gets nuked.

  44. Alex I could make the same argument with another topic that's to be considered and decided by the community , I mean after why should anyone care if an half year topic was already decided upon when I could easy bring it up again and while I am at bring up alot more suggestions that were already dealt with. That's were it becomes a problem for the community but according to you it's not a big issue when doubt it is, it's dubble jeperdy execpt with suggestions that have already been brought forth in the past, if gravedigging isn't allowed then why should you allow two topics of the same issue co exist . You have an clone but then again why should I care my be I'll bring up a same topic again and very soon you have people doing the same cluttering up the forms. But Hy people the game and fourm Creator doesn't care it's alright, that sets a very bad image of you and very bad example to go by.
