  2. I did some debugging and you're right, thanks so much for catching this! I knew I was bound to make a mistake somewhere. I mistakenly counted the money lost for a player in a finished war as loot for that player when it really should've been for the other side. Here are the updated stats:

  3. Here are some loot stats I compiled, it assumes the following market prices: Food=$150, coal=$3000, oil=$3000, uranium=$3000, lead=$3000, iron=$3000, bauxite=$3500, gasoline=$3500, munitions=$2000, steel=$5000, aluminium=$3000. The 'Other' alliance represents alliances not listed here (eg. Arrgh), for wars between them and the listed alliances. Net damage is taken from Frawley's most recent stats.

  4. Shocker, the one stat not included in Frawley's sheets heavily inflate the damage totals for IQ.. For those wondering, including the most recent damage totals and value of loot lost. Here are the latest damage statistics... IQ Damage Suffered: $134.166 Billion (-$50.231 Billion) KT/Rose Side Damage Suffered: $83.935 Billion (+$50.231 Billion) Looking great IQ, keep it up. (Off topic, but including TJest war damage to IQ, they have taken 175 billion dollars in damage over the past 2 months )

  5. 1. Denial and isolation "My nation was never GPA! If it was, then everybody was GPA!" The first reaction to learning about ever being GPA is to deny the reality of the situation. “This isn’t happening, this can’t be happening,” people often think. It is a normal reaction to rationalize your overwhelming emotions. Denial is a common defense mechanism that buffers the immediate shock of being GPA, numbing you to your emotions. You block out the words and hide from the facts. You start to believe that life is meaningless, and nothing is of any value any longer. For most people experiencing grief, this stage is a temporary response that carries you through the first wave of pain. 2. Anger "It wasn't me! And who is this Naam, and why would he accept such an application?!" As the masking effects of denial and isolation begin to wear, reality and its pain re-emerge. You are not ready. The intense emotion is deflected from your vulnerable core, redirected and expressed instead as anger. The anger may be aimed at inanimate objects, innocent hobbits, complete strangers, friends or family. Anger may be directed at GPA. Rationally, you know GPA is not to be blamed. Emotionally, however, you may resent the GPA for ever accepting you or for leaving you. You feel guilty for being angry, and this makes you more angry. 3. Bargaining "Please Sheepy! Change my nation ID!" The normal reaction to feelings of helplessness and vulnerability is often a need to regain control through a series of “If only” statements, such as: If only I had sought another alliance sooner… If only I got a second opinion from another P&W player… If only I had tried to be a better member toward them, we could've pushed them away from neutrality sooner… This is an attempt to bargain. Secretly, you may make a deal with Sheepy in an attempt to change your nation ID. This is a weaker line of defense to protect you from the painful reality. 4. Depression "I wasted so much time being GPA, yet my nation misses it so much..." There are two types of depression that are associated with mourning. The first one is a reaction to practical implications relating to being GPA. Sadness and regret predominate this type of depression. You worry about consequences. You worry that, in your grief, you have spent less time with others that depend on you. This phase may be eased by simple clarification and reassurance. You may need a bit of helpful cooperation and a few kind words. The second type of depression is more subtle and, in a sense, perhaps more private. It is your quiet preparation to separate and to bid GPA farewell. Sometimes all you really need is a hug. 5. Acceptance. "My nation was GPA." Reaching this stage of grieving is a gift not afforded to everyone. GPA may be sudden and unexpected or you may never see beyond your anger or denial. It is not necessarily a mark of bravery to resist the inevitable and to deny yourself the opportunity to make your peace. This phase is marked by withdrawal and calm. This is not a period of happiness and must be distinguished from depression. Coping with GPA is ultimately a deeply personal and singular experience — nobody can help you go through it more easily or understand all the emotions that you’re going through. But others can be there for you and help comfort you through this process. The best thing you can do is to allow yourself to feel the grief as it comes over you. Resisting it only will prolong the natural process of healing.

  6. Aka: Quichwe declares creative bankruptcy I take TFP's treaties very seriously. More than just words on paper, they are a bond of friendship, a declaration of support, and an obligation that should be honored when its terms are met. To sign a treaty is to tie alliances with each other, and that means facing the future and its trials together. We share in our successes, our moments of glory, and the fruits of our labor. But, we also share in our failures, our mistakes, and our pain. With the NPO offensive against Rose, the terms of our ODP have been met. And with the call of them and our other allies on the field, we shall answer. I will not have TFP break our word over such a thing as mere discomfort or over-concern over our pixels. It may be folly. It may cause severe damage to us. It most certainly will be painful. But, we stand in this together, with our allies Rose and Ragnarok, and our allies on the field of battle in House Stark, Bad Company, and Knights Templar. Whether glorious victory or valiant defeat, we join them in this fight against the New Pacific Order. To all combatants: Good luck, and Godspeed. The fire is VERY warm. TLDR: TFP hereby declares war on NPO in defense of Rose and by extension RoK as well. PS: Does this mean that TFP can have a spot on the war stats page?

  7. Nice stats. I'm going to go tell the rest of The Horsemen that we actually looted 34 million total.I will not mention the 2.4 billion in damages we incurred. I don't think they check the forums. Things are looking up!

  10. I do the war stats for TKR only and are super accurate (even because I do the loot manually) I can confirm that your stats are accurate at least for us at 95-98% I don't agree with the market prices, you should change them with an average value of the last month like I do

  12. VS The campaign against Thalmor and his Knights Templar began well for the New Radiant Order as Commander ComradeMilton stabbed himself with a butter knife and died. His replacement, Kayser who vowed to Roquentin to wipe out all enemies of Communism took command and the attack was inspired even if not wholly effective. If Thalmor was to fall then a distraction would be eliminated for the New Radiant Order and so surrounding powers all mobilised at this grand chance to cut down the New Radiant Order to size. Emboldened by the attacks, rebellions exploded inside Radiant territory as tribes long oppressed by Lordship decided this was the perfect chance to revolt. This confederation was lead by Queen Hope Solo, whose 6 husbands lead her armies against the New Radiant Order. One of these Lolbrok managed to inflict a terrible defeat upon the Radiant army, the news of which emboldened all those fighting the New Radiant Order even further. For if this mighty order could not even keep order within their lands, then how can they repel outside attack. Queen M of the !@#$ people however did not move and was remarkably silent. The Son of Heaven too joined in this campaign, on the eastern front which was an effort to stop the flow of eastern people into the Radiant Empire by occupying the borderlands, though when it came to meet with the other lords to talk on how best to carry out the offensive he was missing. Those gathered became anxious at this and wished to meet with him, General AkAk however assured those present that they would meet with the Roz further into the eastern lands. The Son of Heaven he explained was so moved to help in this endeavour that he had himself with a bodyguard had travelled already into the eastern lands to scout the area out. The other lords present were most impressed at such dedication and zeal and they celebrated Rozalia's name with great energy. Kastor, who had become Grand Admiral of his own forces that also joined in this effort knew however that "scouting" was simply code for "dicking", though he did not wish to ruin the mood so did not mention it. *Further into the eastern lands* The Roz enjoyed the land and it's bounty. The Roz ploughed the fields and spread his many oats. After one such session Boomur Raggat who travelled with the Son of Heaven as his bodyguard asked on what purpose all this was done. Surely after a victory this could be indulged in? He did not wish to question the wisdom of the great one, but the enemy in the coming battle was the New Radiant Order, a foe that certainly could not be taken lightly. "Boomur, you are young and not versed in these ways. What may appear to you as mere decadence is in fact expert scouting". Boomur could not accept this response, after all, how could he have learned information on the enemy when he had not scouted anything at all? "When we talk scouting you think of going out there into the world and seeing for yourself the enemy position, to go out there and find out information yourself. That is mere basic stuff, and the Roz is far beyond such things. Simply put, women love to speak to each other, of which they do much... one speaks to another, that one to another, so on, and eventually it reaches me here. My hard work over this last week has paid off as I have learnt all the enemy positions and certain aspects on the enemy commanders. They do not know it yet, but the Roz has already defeated them via their women". Boomur was amazed at such sagacity and left the Son of Heaven to further work. *Later at the Coalition camp* The Roz relayed his information to those gathered. "Esteemed gentleman present. Over the last week I have been hard at work learning all there is to know about the enemies we are about to face. It will be no revelation to you all to learn that the New Radiant Order is vast in number, however united they are not. The Polaris Order being from the east are fiercely loyal to Roquentin, however the rest are former Radiant Empire vassals forced into battle and so do not have much in the way of heart or zeal for their cause. There is disorder among the enemy ranks with Lord Betulius, one of Greene's former lackeys who mirrors his former lord perfectly with his bad attitude and pitiful intelligence, refusing to take commands from the Polaris order and has alienated everyone, with even half of his own troops deserting him. Order of the White Rose have no stomach for a fight. Cerberus forces are extremely unhappy with their commander, Verin, and would appear could even swing to our side. Even the enemy's top command is a mess with AlmightyGrub largely having locked himself away in his camp and delegating everything to Kriegskoenig, who is brave, but who alone cannot make up for the enemy's shortcomings. Due to all that I have said I do not think that those such as good brother Sketchy and the famed Buorhann are required to deal with this rabble. Charge forward and run through the enemy and keep going till you hit Radiant Castle. My humble self will deal with those here to make sure they do not give chase". Amazed at all that the Roz had learnt in the short time frame he had scouted, Buorhann quickly agreed to the plan. Though he put forward his Ameme Trio, Arcnox, Arkiri, and Alkaline, to stay behind and help aid in the effort. And so the battle began. Buorhann and his forces charged forward, smashing violently into the enemy and opening them up instantly, like as if a mower of lawns the grass was cut and cut leaving a smooth field of bodies. Such an event frightened the New Radiant Order forces and they would have lost there, but General Kriegskoenig managed to restore enough order to manage a retreat back to safety where they could attempt to resist once again. The Order of the White Rose however completely broke down and fled. The Roz pleased that everything had gone as predicted set about doing the rest of the plan. General Henrich would lead the main force against the enemy while the Son of Heaven would lead a detachment that went by a longer path known to the locals in the area and hit the enemy from behind. Verin in his fort was advised by all of his officers to not march out to face the Coalition forces. He admonished them all and told them that if they feel that way then he will lead the forces by himself to meet the enemy, and when he returns he will punish them all. However he quickly met defeat and fled back to his fortress whose gates were barred to him. He angrily demanded they open the gates, which they did, though what came out sent Verin fleeing. As the New Radiant Order struggled against Henrich's assault, Betulius sat in his camp, too afraid to move to meet the enemy. It was fine, he had advance warning if General Kriegskoenig was to be totally routed. It would be fine. It would be... fine... ============ tl;dr

  13. SOUND: A tone plays signaling the start of the daily broadcast. Followed by static and the deep male voice. ANCHOR: Bienvenidos. Welcome to tonight's broadcast. You are listening to AG 756 AM, La Voz de la Nación. This is Hector Bolívar reporting. SOUND: Theme music plays. (List of Companies that are State Run or the State is a Stakeholder ) BOLIVAR: Now, today's top story. Minister of Economy and Development, Gabriel Cardozo, announced today that the National Party will begin the legal process necessary to privatize vast swaths of the Republic's state-owned enterprises. The initiative is a continuation of a policy program that began under the previous Christian Democratic Union government and marks an important step forward for the National Party in delivering on one of its main campaign promises. BOLIVAR: The first enterprises slated for sale are Agacenta's state owned mining companies. The states 15 percent stake in Minera Campo, the main mining company in the southern provinces, is to be completely liquidated. Cooperativa Miniera Pan-Aguacenta, the cooperative formed by the territorial governments in the 1800s to help consolidate and modernize the Republics mining industries, will also see a major sell-off of both stock and assets. Cooperativa currently holds the rights to in excess of 80 percent Aguacenta's mineral deposits. The National Assembly is expected to to authorize the sale of over half of those rights on the open market. The government stake in Cooperativa is also expected to be reduced from 77 percent, to the legally permitted minimum of 51 percent over the next 10 years. BOLIVAR: Also on the chopping block are assets from the state owned petroleum company, Petro Norte. Under the National Party's plan, Petro Norte's stakes in the outermost part of the northern seas are expected to be put up for sale as are several of the companies understaffed facilities in the north east. Despite the changes to state-owned resource extraction companies, Cardozo was quick to reassure citizens that most of the service related companies would keep their protected legal status. This means no changes are expected to the governments railway, utility, banking, and telecommunications firms. BOLIVAR: Demand for state owned assets and stock is expected to be high. The National Party stated that sales will create an opening for private mining companies to grow by allowing them access to more mining tracts. It also stated that allowing private mining companies access to un-worked tracts owned by Cooperativa Minera will increase resource extraction. BOLIVAR: Experts on Aguacenta's mining industry said that it is likely that the sales were likely to increase production, decrease unemployment, and increase wages as private mining concerns begin to hire on new personnel to utilize newly purchase mineral rights. However, they also cautioned of the potential for overproduction. One expert worried that there are currently not enough skilled miners and mining engineers in the country to meet the potential increase in demand. BOLIVAR: Markets reacted favorably to the announcement, as industrial and commodities exchanges both rallied. However, Cooperativa Minera's stock price fell slightly, as investor's concerns about the potential for over-saturation of available shares. BOLIVAR: The move was met with mixed reactions from opposition parties in the Capital. Several members of Liberal Democratic Party were quick to applaud the announcement, stating that free enterprise was crucial to creating an open and democratic society. However, in an official statement the Socialist Party decried the sales as "needlessly selling out the countries natural resources and people to corporations that will inevitably put profits before the good of society". BOLIVAR: When asked if they if ministry expected any changes to the proposed plan, Cardozo stated that ultimately the plan introduced by the National Party was meant to serve the good of the Aguacentian people, and that changes could be made should the compelling interest or need arise. BOLIVAR: You have been listening to broadcast frequency AG 756 AM, La Voz de la Nación an Aguacentian Far East Radio Network station. This concludes today's headline edition. I wish you all a good night. This is Hector Bolivar signing off. Buenas Noches. SOUND: STATIC

  16. OK, I I got lucky enough to fight Belgica (https://politicsandwar.com/nation/id=29685) before he re-upped his VM immediately after the latest turn. I know VM doesn't allow you to be spied upon, but if you're fighting a war against someone, shouldn't you be allowed to spy on them, regardless of if they ran off to VM? Was wondering if this was an overlooked bug.

  17. Due to the decreased effectiveness of nukes, I would like to recommend a change to the cost of nukes. As they are generally speaking half as effective as they used to be in terms of damage output, I think it would make sense for them to be much cheaper in terms of cost. Currently, nukes cost: $1.75 million, 750 aluminum, 500 gas and 250 uranium Compare this to a missile, which has about a 1/5th of the power of a nuclear weapon: $150,000 100 aluminum, 75 gas, 75 munitions Let's make nukes scale to effectiveness in terms of cost. They are five times as powerful as missiles, so they should be about five times more expensive, leave the uranium amount the same: With this you end up with: $750,000, 500 aluminum, 375 gas, 250 uranium

  21. Excuse me, it's 20k. Also, I'd like to clarify - while we might have declared war on NPO, it seems like they're really the ones declaring on us. Good fun nonetheless, we'll try to keep to it. (Plus, considering what happened the last time we got on the first page of the alliance leaderboard, it seems appropriate to bring ourselves off of it as a safety measure )

  23. You play Blackjack against the dealer (the server, in this case), and there's really no strategy. There's an optimal way to play the game where you maximize the odds of winning. No one (for any good reason) would play the game any way other than the way that maximizes their chances of winning. Even then, your odds are still about 1:1 for winning/losing. Might as well just add a coin-flip game instead, it would be simpler (less work) and have the same effect. But wait, we already have two games that are basically 'coin flip' games, just more nuanced: Keno & Dice. Just play those.
