Imperial Government Announcement

With the decisive battle finally concluded, Japan, now Calondia, has been once again reunified! The air campaign was a victory with no losses, the Imperial Family is back once again in Kyoto and all things foreign have been burned and discarded. People are rejoicing in the streets having been liberated from tyrannical rulers. Peace is finally restored to the great empire. With this triumphant victory we can start looking to new horizons and reconquer old territory. Only one nation was our true ally and friend during this conflict and will remain for a thousand years, Narvan, the greatest ally a nation could hope for stood with us during our most desperate hour. Due to our isolationist policy we will be withdrawing from the international arena and closing our borders to all nations besides Narvan. No other nation will be allowed to enter our sovereign territory and all diplomatic envoys will be stopped at the border and sent home; we finally achieved our greatest goal and will treasure it forever, never again will the greatest empire on the planet fall to ruin.

Wow, what a great conclusion, I almost thought for a second we wouldn't make it and the communists would be victorious. Right at the last second the air campaign broke though and destroyed all military facilities on the border and continued to raid Japan, the Imperial Army then marched through and were cheered on by the populace as liberators!

Garry: Right Alice, makes you proud to be Calondian! I even heard the traitor Shinji Mitsunari was killed in his mansion from a bomb off target, well supposedly off target, and he died cowering behind the walls of his estate. He claimed to be for equality but he was nothing but a greedy tyrant who just wanted all the land. He deserved a traitors death but I guess I can be happy with this outcome.

Alice: Yes he certainty was a traitor and a coward. With his regime toppled and his succession non-existent, a new time of peace and prosperity is awaiting us. However this could not have been possible without our unwavering ally Narvan; we expected more of our other allies but I guess they couldn't be bothered to support such a silly thing like national liberation of a sovereign people. I am glad we won't be dealing with them anymore and will instead be focusing on more domestic concerns.

Garry: Yes exactly right, no longer will we be forced to obey the will of foreign tyrants and imperialists trying to deny us our ancestral land. It is ours and it will always be ours! However even though small, the lives lost and the soldiers who fought in this glorious conflict will be remembered and revered. Even in such devastating victories the horrors of the front are frightening; before we move onto our next program we will be reading aloud some journals from the heroes who fought in the Calondian Liberation War.

November 1st: I wonder if they will come today. Last night it drizzled and there was a breeze, making me feel rather uncomfortable. When I awoke at 4 this morning, rain clouds filled the sky but there was still a breeze. The swell of the sea was higher than usual. However, the clouds seem to be breaking.

I have become used to combat, and I have no fear. In yesterdayâ€™s raid our air force suffered no losses, while nine enemy planes were confirmed as having been shot down and three others doubtful. Battle gains are positively in favor of our victory, and our belief in our invincibility is at last high.

Some doughnuts were brought to the officersâ€™ room from the Field Defense HQ, which were made by the Nanto Detachment. They were awfully small ones, but I think each one of us had 20 or so. Whether they were actually tasty or not didnâ€™t make much difference because of our craving for sweets. Each one was a treasure in itself. While eating the doughnuts, I lay down in the sand, and I pulled out the handbook my father had bought for me and which was now all in pieces from a bomb fragment. As I looked at the map of my homeland, which was dear to me, I thought I would like to go to a hot spring with my parents when I get home.

I thought of going there, and here. This map of the homeland, when back home, would be of no use other than for traveling. Right now, it has spiritual meaning rather than a material value: a meaning that is 10 times its value by making me happy and by consoling me.

Alice: Beautiful, our country is so important to all of us, it is a dream come true that we finally have it back.

Garry: Is that a tear I see Alice, I think we were all brought to tears with the announcement of our complete victory, but this solider. . it meant so much more to him. With this settled, we will be moving on to the daily military news report of Calondia, led by General Abe, there is still some areas that need to be pacified and there are still socialist strongholds off island. We still need to be vigilant until the enemy has been completely eradicated. Stay tuned viewers for the areas where you should avoid or at least stay indoors.

Calondia Military Announcements

General Abe: Citizens this is your conquering general successfully returned from the front, as you are well aware, Calondia is finally liberated and we can rest easy a bit. However there are still areas of this great country who have yet to see the light. The following broadcasts are live and it is advisable to stay indoors in you are in the affected area.

Announcement: The area around AKITA prefecture has seen rebels fleeing to the north; there is a suspected rebel stronghold built underground in Oga; the naval bombardment has not succeeded in eradicating them and the Imperial Army is sending troops to burn them out of their base.

Unfortunately the rebel position in Sapporo is strong with the city still under socialist rule, the light bombardment has not succeeded and the population is firmly socialist. The army has encircled the city and laid siege but guerrilla tactics from rebels all around HOKKAIDO and specifically in Chitose are making the task difficult. The air-force and navy is assisting in any way they can but the air-force senior command thinks a more indiscriminate bombing tactic is required, such maneuvers have been denied for now with the Army planning to liberate the city like the rest of Japan with few civilian casualties.

Rebels are fleeing Japan, now Calondia, to relocate to their annexed colonies to regroup, even now rebels not engaged in Oga or Sapporo are moving from Wakkanai and the surrounding region in boats avoiding the reduced Imperial Navy to flee to Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and make their way north. If you encounter rebels on this route please avoid them and call the military police when you can to report their activities.

Anarchists in Kyoto are causing trouble with theft, assault, and vandalism. The end of socialism, return of Calondia, and increased military presence has left some disenfranchised. They have been causing problems but their criminal activities are being rooted out as we speak and their terror will end soon enough. 38 criminals have been arrested so far and more will follow; the population is large and the military police have to prioritize but with help from honorable citizens reporting their activities we can stop them sooner. Similar chaos has been seen in Tokyo.
